After Rhaegar's coronation, the party began.
A banquet had been prepared for all who had arrived in the city.
Sweet foods, salty foods, wine, beer and entertainers made all this more cheerful.
It lasted until late afternoon, when everyone started going to their quarters.
Viserys joined Cersei who was returning followed by some Royal Guards, while Rhaegar was still talking to some of the guests.
"Cersei ..."
Said the child at a safe distance from the guards.
She turned, and as soon as she saw him she gave the order to the guards to leave them alone.
"Hi Viserys, did you enjoy the party?"
"I was sitting between Pycelle and my Septa, so the company wasn't the best but the food and drinks were great."
“I'm glad you enjoyed the food and enjoyed the drinks. If you want, I can tell your brother to let you sit close to us next time. "
"I would really appreciate it."
"So ... What did you want to talk to me about?"
"I would just like to talk to you a little, you know, to get to know you better. I would be grateful if we could do it inside my rooms, so as to be close to my sister. "
"Of course!"Viserys took Cersei by the arm and accompanied her to his rooms.
Neither said a word until Viserys closed the door.
“Please take a seat, if you want you can sit on the bed so you are more comfortable.
"Thanks a lot."
The boy went to his sister's crib and took her in his arms.
"She's really beautiful isn't she?"
Viserys asked as he sat down next to Cersei.
"Yes, she's really beautiful."
"Do you want to pick her up? After all, a little training for your future baby will do you more than good. "
Cersei accepted and took little Daenerys in her arms.
She was a beautiful little girl with silver hair and purple eyes, traits that the Targaryens shared.
The child was not only beautiful but also sweet, so sweet that her smile almost made Cersei's heart melt.
"So ... What would you like to talk about?"
"You know, first of all I'd like to ask you for advice."
"Sure, tell me everything."
“You see, as you know, my mother died giving birth to Daenerys and as much as I love my sister sometimes I just wish she didn't exist or pay the consequences for what she did. How can you bear your brother? "
Cersei looked at him with a smile.
The boy had had to face her own fate: to see his mother die from childbirth.
“I'm afraid I'm not the right person to help you… Tyrion and I argue very often, and more than once we have tried to hurt each other; but you are not me, you can be a better person. Just try not to think about what happened, okay? "
"But it's difficult, especially now that my father is dead too."
"Did your brother tell you why he had to do it?"
"... Yes. But I miss him, even though he yelled at me and made me cry ... He was my father."
A tear streaked Viserys's face, and Cersei, after putting Daenerys back in her crib, joined him and cuddled him.
"I'm sorry for what happened Viserys ... I promise you that Rhaegar and I will stand by your side, and we will never leave you."
“And when will your child be born? Will you still be with us? "
"Obviously! You must not think that after the birth of the baby we will no longer love you and will abandon you. "
"Thanks."
Viserys said through tears.
After Cersei managed to calm him down, the boy wiped away his tears, and asked Cersei a question whose answer Rhaegar had not given him was sufficient.
“Speaking of brothers again. Are you still going to bed with Jaime? "
"What?"
Cersei asked amazed.
"I asked you if Jaime is still your lover."
"No, of course not!"
"But do you still have feelings for him?"
“Sure, he's my brother. It seems logical to me that I love him. "
"I meant if you still have feelings for him physically."
"You know, I don't like the way this conversation is taking it's better if I go to my rooms and change for dinner."
Cersei stood up, but Viserys ran to the door and stood in front of it as if to block it.
"You still have to answer my question Queen of the Seven Kingdoms."
"Please Viserys let me go."
“I don’t think I want to”
“I don't feel anything for my brother Jaime anymore. Now will you please let me pass? "
"No."
"Please Viserys ... I am tired and I would like to go to rest."
"I do not care."
"As you said I am now the Queen of the Seven Kingdoms so please let me pass otherwise I'll call the guards."
"I'm afraid I told everyone they could rest today, and go home."
Cersei went to the door, and tried to move Viserys out of her passage but the latter pushed her with all the strength he had.
The Queen fell to the ground, resting her left hand on her belly.
She wanted to scream, ask for help, do anything; but all she did was collapse into tears.
Her husband's brother, a child who should have become like a son for her, despised her and now he had also mistreated her, putting her pregnancy at risk.
Rhaegar had got rid of his father as soon as he saw the signs of his madness but it seemed as if it was there in Viserys as well.
The latter was looking at Cersei with an impassive face until Rhaegar knocked on the door.
"Viserys, can I enter?"
The boy observed the situation, and many ideas formed in his mind about what he could do.
Tell him he couldn't talk to him at the moment? Kill Cersei and hide her somewhere?
Eventually he opened the door, and walked quickly beside his brother's wife.
"Cersei!"
Rhaegar said as soon as he saw her lying on the ground crying.
"... Rhaegar."
Cersei said in one breath, while he made her sit down.
Seeing him had been a relief for her, but she didn't know what to say.
"What happened here?"
Viserys glared at Cersei, as if to warn her that he wouldn't hesitate to hurt her again if she told the truth.
"Nothing special, my head was spinning a bit and I fell."
"Why are you crying?"
"I thought I was losing the baby, that's all."
Rhaegar helped her up, and unaware of what had really happened, thanked his brother for trying to help her before leaving the room with Cersei who was still scared.
The rest of the afternoon passed quickly, and after some rest, the new rulers of Westeros were ready to dine with their friends.
Upon their arrival at the dining room, those who had been invited to join the dinner were already all around the table ready to eat and spend an evening in cheerful company.
There weren't actually many people, just Cersei, Rhaegar, Jaime, Robert, Lyanna and Eddard (Lyanna's older brother).
Between one bite and the next, they started talking, but the real conversation began when Robert brought up a memory of their childhood.
"You know Rhaegar, when you chose Lyanna as the most beautiful lady in the tournament I was starting to think I wanted you dead."
"Thanks for not doing it then."
"You have to thank Cersei, if you hadn't started loving her now you would be dead and gone."
Everyone smiled when Robert burst out laughing.
"What do you say if we say one by one who our first crushes were?"
Jaime said pouring himself some wine into his glass.
"But you start."
Eddard said sitting next to him.
"Gladly. My first crush was Elia Martell, and I would have even married her if only I hadn't become a member of the Royal Guard. Now it's your turn dear Eddard, tell us who your first crush was. "
"I don't know if I can tell, or I'm afraid my head will be displayed on the city walls."
"Come on Ned just say it!"
Robert urged him.
"Okay ... My first crush was Cersei."
"Yes maybe I'll hang your head on a pike."
Rhaegar said sarcastically.
"My first crush was Lyanna."
“It was quite deductible Robert. And I'm sorry to have to say it, but you weren't mine. "
"So who was your first crush Lyanna?"
"My first crush was the man you married, Cersei."
"So I guess if Rhaegar wants Ned's head on a pike, I want yours."
“Then I guess you'll wear mine too. I'm sorry love, but as you well know my first crush was Lyanna. "
"Apparently Lyanna is the most wanted."
Jaime said laughing.
Cersei began to remember how much she had suffered from that, and after having had the conversation with Viserys she didn't feel like continuing the evening in company anymore so she got up.
"If you don't mind I'm going to sleep, I'm a little tired after all the celebrations today."
"Sure, go ahead."
The guests said, as Rhaegar joined her just before she left the room.
“Are you sure you're just sleepy? Ever since you talked to my brother that I see you strange, did he say or do something to you? "
He asked softly.
"No, he didn't hurt me I'm just tired."
" … If you say so."
Before joining the others at the table he gave her a kiss on the forehead and said goodnight.
If only he knew the truth, who knows what he would do.
