Janet's pov School was boring,as usual.but things were more lively and active because tonight a game was going happen,I actually got to sit with the team during the assembly at the auditorium today.the principal and coach let Lance give a speech to everyone in the auditorium,I smiled and stared at him as he delivered his speech.after he delivered his speech everyone cheered and clapped,me and the team did it as well.he looked at me and smiled,everything was perfect.

And why did it have to happen to us?
The games began and I was sitting in the crowd cheering as loud as i could,I actually made my own Jersey that had Lance's number on it:lucky 7."you should be a cheerleader!"some boys said to me during some rounds,I glared at them.everything was going great,we actually had a shot at winning!
Then...it all changed
Lance went down,people gasped and whispered while I widened my eyes."LANCE!"I yelled,I nearly flew off the steps of the bleachers as I ran towards him.i lifted him up a bit,"it-it hurts Janet..."he admitted.for the first time,he actually said my name.i helped the doctor lift him up onto a gurney,"Damnit!"coach yelled as they took Lance away."Mox,you'll take over for Lance."he said,"but who'll replace Mox?"Wendell asked.i clenched my hands into fists,I shook a bit."I'LL DO IT!"I yelled,everyone gasped.sweat dripped down my forehead and I looked at everyone,the coach seemed to be analyzing what he was about to say.he sighed and mumbled something,everyone looked at me.
We were all anticipating coach's answer,"I'll think about it,game's over:we should check on Lance."he said.coach got in his car while me and the boys got in Billy Bob's truck,"you ok Janet?"Charlie asked me.he actually sounded concerned for me,that's definitely new.i sighed,"I don't know Charlie,I mean I meant what I said:I do wanna join the team,but I feel like I won't be good enough.and when Lance get's better,I'll be back to being a nobody in the crowd."I vented a bit.Charlie and Wendell looked at me worryingly,i exhaled and quickly wiped a tear."I'll be ok,don't worry about me:worry about Lance."i said to them,"ok Jane,we believe you."Wendell said.
when we arrived at the hospital we saw that Lance's dad and girlfriend were already in the waiting room,Lance's leg was broken but it was going to heal.the boys looked at coach,"Well coach?is Janet replacing Mox?"Charlie asked.Coach didn't say anything for a minute,he sighed."fine,welcome to the team Utah."he said,I gasped while the boys cheered.Charlie lifted me up,"WOOO!"he yelled.
