Chapter 32: A Different Door.

Ed's POV

A different door this time. Breathe, Ed, breathe.

I knock, probably softer that I should.

"Hold on a minute!" The gentle, soft and feminine voice was heard from inside, making my insides twist more.

I wait patiently, holding the few warming gifts close to my chest.

"Be brave man, pretend you're Harry. What would Harry do?" I whisper to myself, trying to calm down.

"No! He'd feel this way as well. Well, maybe, even wimpier." I chuckle, still whispering along that little joke on Harry.

"Yes?" The door instantly opens after my last batch of chuckles, the voice having my skin hair raise.

Her face revealed with a soothing view, seeing life and innocence. Though it changed quickly like Harry Styles would always change his phone, which is often.

"Umm, Ed." She says, more of a statement with a tone so soft and a volume that could be taken away by air.

She looks at my face with an unsure look, then looks down at the presents I brought to lighten things up if possible.

"Uh, I got these for you, I hope you like them." I say awkwardly, handing the teddy bear, The Lord Of The Rings trilogy DVDs, a light saber, and a Bilbo Baggins Lego Minifigure keychain that I bought for her with most items in a medium sized blue Eco bag.

"Thanks?" She states unsurely as she looks at the Teddy Sheeran bear as if it was an odd figure.

"Look, if you're trying to apologize, well you're forgiven. You didn't have to-"

"Of course I did, you're my best friend, remember? Or did that get affected too?" I question raising my eyebrow.

"Well, It's just that-all these things and-oh fine just come in!" She finally gives up, laughing at herself as she widens the pathway.

"Thanks." I say after feeling the warmth of her flat, taking off my leather jacket and hanging it up.

"Parched? How about I get you some water. Oh, if you're hungry, I could heat up the brownies. If you need a break, you know where the bathroom is. And if you're bored, turn on the TV." She says all in one breath, rushing to keep some things fixed and prepared.

I shook my head in disbelief, seeing how stressed this woman is makes me laugh.

I turn on the TV as she prepares, eyes fixed on the screen to give her time.

"It's fine, just a bit of-"

"Coffee?" She cuts me off in her haggard manner.

I look up to see her standing in front of me, leaving me in wonder on how she could be so fast.

"Sure." I gladly accept and she serves me a tray with coffee and her delicious brownies.

She sits beside me to relax herself and the baby. It makes me happy that she isn't just thinking about herself through all her work, that she's aware of her child.

"How's Tanya?" I pop out the question which makes Taylor face me immediately.

"Good. In fact, remarkable! She's been very stable inside of me after six months. The doctor said I might go through a normal delivery-that has the higher chance. He says that there's nothing else to worry about the baby, just as long as I keep control and maintain my lifestyle." She says proudly of what they're going through.

"That's... nice." I half curve forms my lips. The thought that I abandoned the both of them and then I suddenly pop out of nowhere at this moment.

I felt... out of place. It felt as if I'm a hobbit going into Rivendell and Taylor's way too far for me to reach.

"And Harry, he's in tour am I right?" I ask, sipping the warm cup of coffee.

"Oh! Yeah..." She answers, looking like she fell into a hole while remembering something. "H-he's on tour now." I see her frown.

I study her face as she quietly bites off a piece from a brownie, her other hand just below her nearly huge bump.

I guess it's safe to say that the two of them made peace, that everything's fine. Everything's going well as I hoped it would, except for work because it really happens in our lives.

"How's your relationship with Athina going? Is it even a relationship?" She jokes as she takes a laugh.

"Kinda okay. We're friends." I chuckle and take another sip from my coffee.

"That's great! It can't be just okay, Ed. There could've been a possibility that she'd hate you forever. But what do you get instead? Friendship. That's a start if you actually want to rekindle your romantic relation." She tells me, making me feel like it's a lecture and I laugh slightly.

"Well, at least." I had nothing else to comment.

"Hey, try to call Harry." I command her with a smile. "What? Why? Ed! Come on, it's not like we're romanticizing anything between me and Harry here-"

"Oh really?" I tease, eating a brownie.

"Y-yeah." Taylor manages to lie, from there I could see her uncontrollable blush.

"Okay, okay. I'll take note of that." I put the coffee mug on the tray and sit up. "Call him." I smirk teasingly as she rolls her eyes in irritation.

Either way, she did dial his number. Now she's just waiting.

I can see that it's taking a while for Harry to pick up his phone, but I hear that he picked it up anyway.

Taylor giggles silently and blushes, pretty much excited to talk to him.

She doesn't say a word, her happiness fading as each second passes.

She's still not speaking like a mime stuck with the rule of not even making a sound.

Taylor's face goes inexpressive yet I sense a bit of sadness right behind.

She pressed end, still not making even a single sound.

"Tay, what happened?" I ask in worry since her face is blank.

No answer. Her face still shows no emotion as she emptily stares at the TV.

"Taylor, hey answer me." I laugh nervously but I still get the same feedback.

"Taylor?" Worry now takes over, what on Earth did Harry say? What did he do?

A tear falls down to Taylor's gray dress and more tears start to fall.

"I'm nothing." She states with no emotion.

"I'm just his job."
