Day 10: i'm giving up on you

"Good morning guys." I greeted them when I entered the office. They happily greeted back except for someone. "Good morning Chae." I greeted her but---

"Jooyeon-ah, did you see my pouch?" She ignored me...

"No. I didn't see it Chaeng."

"Oh it's here." I handed it to her since it's just near my table. "Thanks."

What's going on?

"What's with her bruh?" Jimin asked. "I don't know either..." I felt a sudden pain. Is she ignoring me? No way...

"Oh wait, Sir is calling me." Jimin excuse himself for a minute. I took the chance to ask her.

"Chae is there something---"

"Sorry, I have to go to the restroom." I was just about to ask her something when she excused herself. Aaaa! This is driving me crazy. She's not the Chae that I know anymore.

What should I do?

"Jungkook-shi, I guess Chaeng finally realized her feelings for you. Look at her, she seems so awkward around you. She kept on avoiding you." Jooyeon said.

"What? Suddenly? Why would she avoid me? She can tell it to me though." I replied.

"You're right Jooyeon-ah. Chaeng looks so weird."

"Exactly guys, Rosé-shi finally fell for you. Last time, before I go home. All of you already went home while Jungkook-shi is making a coffee for her. I heard her talking to herself." Min Jung butted in.

"I heard her say, 'Park Roseanne, you must be crazy. Aish! This can't be. Can my heart please stop beating so fast? What if he heard it? Aish jinjja!' She nearly pull her own hair that day." She continue explaining and she even copied how Chae talks.

"정말요?" (Really?)

"Yes. She's mostly not the bubbly Chaeng that we used to know especially when she's with you."

"Guys, I don't want to set my hopes high. But what you guys just said makes me wanna ask her what she truly feels." I smiled and gain my courage to ask her.

I went to follow Chae and planning to wait for her until she comes up from the restroom when I heard a conversation.

It is Chae's voice with Jimin-shi.

Jimin: Look, what seems to be so hard for you to like him back? Can't you see he's doing his best for you to impress you and to make you happy.

Chae: Jimin-shi, you know that you can't force someone to love that person back. And that's the same thing with me, you cannot force me to like him back.

Her words are so painful. Do you think she's being harsh? I keep listening to them. 

Jimin: You can't see his effort? He even help your mom when she's at the hospital.

No... Don't tell it. 

Chae: Wait, what about that? What do you mean?

No... don't spill it Park Jimin.

Jimin: See? You are so clueless. Jungkook paid for your mom's hospital bill.

Aish! I said not to tell it to her. 

Chae: W-what? He did what? He paid for it?

Jimin: Yes and why do you think he did that? It's because he want to help you. He don't want you to worry about it.

Chae: Oppa it's not about the good deeds of a person for me to like a person back.

I didn't know that she has this sharp words that can rip my heart into pieces anytime. 

Jimin: Woah, wait a minute. If you really don't have feelings for him then why do you act like that? There's no way you can't develop feelings for him. Jungkook is not that hard to love, he's too good for you. You like him Chae.

Jimin-shi, just end it. I've heard enough. She will never like me back. 

Chae: Oppa, I'm confused. I don't know. I don't even know what's happening to me. Whenever he's beside me or he's just around.

Jimin: It's because you're denying it. I'm saying this for you to realize your feelings before jungkook give up on you. Are you scared by any chance?

Stop forcing her, she will never change her decision. She's a wise person. It will just make the situation worst. 

Chae: It's not that I'm scared but--

Enough. That's it. I give up. 

I made my way away from them. I ran away from the office.

"Jungkook-shi! Where are you going?"

"You have to take this call!"

"This is urgent!"

They all called for my name but I didn't even look at them for once.

It's finally over. My goal was ruined and I will stop. I will stop making you fall for me Rosé. I already know the answer so there is no point in continuing this stupid goal of mine.

Don't worry Chae, I'm giving up on you.
