Erica's POV

I'm a moron, I thought as I flung the car door open, using all my strength against the winds that forced me back. Rain pounded my face and soaked my air as curtains of blinding rain wrapped around me and flew through the window. It felt like a million tiny rocks with the power of a mountain being flung at me from every direction. My skin screamed in protest against this force which I couldn't make go away. I was used to being the force which forced things around, not the other way around.

I felt anger boiling inside me, as I struggled against the win that seemed so determined to push my back. But, for some alien reason I just couldn't leave the boy in danger. I felt something tugging in my chest, calling for him. I want to help him, to save him, to protect him. But first I needed to get through the stupid storm.

That is when I felt energy pumping through me as I watched him, I watched him grasp for the pole for dear life. I watched him struggle against the cold icy winds, that tugged and lashing at him. I let out a grunt of pain as a piece of glass scraped against my skin, but I ignored it. I ignored the pain exploding through me and trailing up my arm.

I had to save him. I just had too. I didn't know why, but I couldn't leave him. And so, I was determined to save him. I pushed against the wind, fighting it. I tried punching it, but it didn't work, and I clenched my teeth. Energy flooded through me, but it was barely a ripple compared to the huge storm swirling around me. I hated storms. While fighting against wind, there wasn't something you could just punch or kick. You couldn't shoot it with a gun or kick it in between it's legs or something.

It was super annoying, and I hated it. Finally, I got to him. I bounded over to him, grabbing his arm. He looked surprised to see me at first, but then I saw a him remember me. I saw a slight smile play on the corners of his lips, but then the smile faded.

"WE GOT TO GET OUT OF HERE!" I screamed at him, my voice barely audible against the storm. I saw him open his mouth to speak, but I only heard muffled shouting. So I screamed, "SPEAK LOUDER! I CAN'T HERE YOU!"

"WE NEED TO TAKE SHELTER!" he cried at me, his voice filled with concern. "I KNOW A HOUSE WHICH IS REALLY STURDY, WE SHOULD SHELTER THERE!"

"OKAY!" I agreed. "HOLD ONTO ME AND SHOW ME THE WAY!" And so he led me, against the winds we pushed ourselves against the biting wind until we got to a abdonded house. I pushed the door open, which all my strength (I could lift about maybe seventy pounds, maybe more). I clenched my teeth, and suddenly if popped open. I stumbled in, this light hitting me in the face. The boy staggered in behind me. I sighed in relief, grabbing his wrist and leading him to a set of stairs.

The house looked a little out of date, but modern none the less. We ran upstairs and I lead him into a bedroom. It only had one window, which I covered with a piece of scrap mettle I had found. Then, I went over to the boy and said, "we can sleep in the bed. We are pretty safe here. At least for a few hours before the storm gets worse." We nodded, curling up on a bed, resting his head on a pillow. I took at look at the soft pillow, and it felt so tempting.

It was like a tugging sensation in my gut, pulling me towards him. I heard the wind howl outside, and things flew. I heart glass crack and a person wail in agony, but I barely noticed. I watched his eyes slide close, and his breathing slow. And before I knew it, I was sitting next to him, and my eyes where beginning to close to.

Then my eyes slid close all the way, and I fell into a pit of darkness.
