An Unexpected Surprise

Coral knew what she had to say to Josiah even if it made his day way worse than it already was. Coral with slight regret said "You are going to become a woman." Coral prepared herself for the shouting.

    “I’M GOING TO WHAT?!” Josiah exclaimed. He couldn’t believe his ears! She had to be lying! There is no way Josiah would accept this! Josiah yelled at her, “Are you serious, right now?! Out of all that, you had to leave that for last?!” I would’ve just sat and starved on the beach if that were the case!” Josiah was furious with this.

Coral responded "Look at how you're acting! Do you honestly think I was going to tell you all this outside when you were going to shout this loud?! And this could have been way worse! At least you're alive!" Josiah was in slight shock. “I could have died?!”, he said. Coral responded, "No! But a different mythical creature could have killed you! Be happy it was me! If mermaids exist, then just imagine what other terrifying things exist as well!" Josiah was somewhat relieved but then scared again. So this is just the surface of what I know to be real? Josiah was really worried for what he may not be prepared for.  But he was most worried for his manhood at this moment.

Coral said "You Will be learning of all the other mythical creatures when you are finished changing into a part of the mythical world. Your changes will start soon. Slowly but surely." Josiah was not ready for this, but he couldn’t stop it. In his head, he was defeated from fighting back this new direction that his life was taking. Josiah was very frightened and said, “Coral, I’m scared. I know I can’t fight this, but I am not ready.”

Coral responded in a supportive tone."No one is ready. Why do you think I'm here?" Coral goes and hugs Josiah to comfort him. "I am your guide to help you! It will be alright! You still can live your life!" Josiah felt somewhat reassured by her words while embracing her hug. Josiah knew he was gonna be okay as long as he had her by his side through it all. Wow, I have never had anyone help me through such a trying time in my life. This is nice. Josiah felt much more at peace now. Unfortunately for them, something very unexpected was going to happen.

“Josiah! We’re home!” His parents walked into the house to where Josiah and Coral were sitting. “And we brought some lefto-WHO IS THIS?!”

                    This was not good.
