Josiah was starting to get annoyed now. Tonight?! This is not okay. At all. Coral was a bit taken aback by Josiah's outburst but she gave him a huge hug to try and calm him down. She said in a calming voice, "Don't worry, remember I am your guide. You are not alone in this." Josiah tried to calm himself down and then took deep breaths to relax. He responded, "Ok. I'm better now, thanks. I'm just really not prepared for this kinda stuff. With everything that has been happening lately, it just feels like a lot to take in."
Coral said, "I completely understand but panic and magic don't mix, at least not very well. So just try to stay calm! I swear to you everything will be alright!" Josiah's mom says from a distance, "Well aren't you sweet! Josiah seems to be in good hands!" Coral responded "Thank you ma'am! But I am going to ask for me and Josiah to be alone so I can help him once he starts to transform! Is that all right?" Josiah's dad nodded and said "That's fine! We are just going to check on you guys every once in a while." Coral responded "Of course! Come on Josiah! Upstairs we go!"
Josiah was not too enthusiastic about the idea. But he had no choice. “Ok, let’s go.” Josiah led her to his room. Coral walked into the room and appreciated it's design. It wasn’t perfect, but it was decent for a 17 year old looking room. After taking a good glance at his room, she refocused and said, "Josiah. Please go sit on your bed." Josiah in some curiosity and confusion asked, "Why?" Coral was not willing to take time and explain it to him and said, "Just do it." Josiah realized there was not much of a point in trying to fight her. He spoke nervously, "Ok." He sat on the bed and Coral sat beside him.
Coral then said, "Any second now!" Josiah looked at her and said, "What do you mean?" Then at that very moment, Josiah's hair grew a lot longer than its original length and it had blue highlights that appeared in his hair every so often. Coral spoke in amazement, "Wow! Your hair is beautiful!" Josiah, still confused about what was happening, responded, "What are you talking about?" Then he noticed it. His hair. It had changed. He tried his best not to freak out. He said in a worried tone "Coral, is this my first transformation?" Coral nodded her head. "Yes." Josiah tried not to panic. He tried breathing and as he was breathing, he felt his long hair come up against his shoulders.
“What the?! Is this my hair?!”, Josiah exclaimed in surprise. “I don’t think I can take this, anymore, Coral. I don’t know if I can do this.” He started to hyperventilate. Coral knew she had to calm him down, again. So she acted quickly and hugged Josiah. "I'm deeply sorry I can't do more. I know this is a lot for you, but are you starting to feel sleepy?" Josiah was surprised by this question, it felt like she somehow knew how he felt at this very moment. Josiah responded in a tired tone "Yeah sort of..." Then Josiah fell asleep into Coral’s arms before he could finish his sentence. Coral picked him up and tucked him into bed. He was very heavy and not an easy person to carry. She too felt tired and looked into Josiah's closet and found an extra pillow and blanket and set herself a little place to sleep. After a little while, she fell asleep on his floor.
Tomorrow is going to be great. Hopefully.
