Three Months Later...

In The Daibazaal Kingdom...

Pidge let her hair grow out a little bit while she stayed in the Daibazaal kingdom, Zarkon seemed better then when she left all those years ago. He held guilt and regret in his eyes and did seem to want to be a better king for his kingdom once again while earning forgiveness from the three children he tainted.

She was allowed to keep her sword but did start wearing dresses as well, doing her belt up that held her sword around her waste of the sword and walked around like that without a care if she looked silly.

Her hair placed in a side pony tail like when she was younger and for not she was dressed in male clothing once more. Her sword in hand as she trained with her eyes close, her mind playing cruel tricks on her.

She was remembering the past, not her sadden past but her joyful one as the green knight within the garrison kingdom. She thought over Shiro hurt expression ones he learns she left and she wondered if he missed her. Her mind played tricks on her, telling her he had moved on without a single thought over her.

Thinking over how another women entered his life, catching his eyes before she ever could. Flashes of fake images filled her mind over Shiro with another and she fought out her anger in the air knowing no one else will be using the old training grounds while she fought her thoughts. Slashing away the images before her and fighting her true enemy .. herself.

Her breath hitched as her eyes flew open, growing wide at the tip of her sword was aimed towards Zarkon throat while he stood frozen still. Quickly pulling her sword back, aiming to the ground while stepping back.

She didn't even hear him enter, how lost in our mind was she to almost kill the king without knowing it.

"Calm yourself, I am fine and it was my own wrong doing to just walk over to you when you were so focused in training. Well, can we even call it training when you seemed to be in a full battle with an invisible enemy" Zarkon smiled slightly, lifting his hand slightly in hopes to calm her worries.

"Sorry, I guess I was distracted with my demons" Pidge answered slightly embarrassed, lowing her head a little.

"Don't be sorry, It must be something important to bring such a hurt look in your eyes. Do you wish to speak about it, I know you might not trust me as much as you did before the war but I'm willing to listen. Your father was always giving me advice when we were younger" Zarkon smiled with care, letting his hand fall back to his side.

"I think I grew too close to someone without my control" Pidge answered slightly embarrassed.

"Don't we all" Zarkon joked and glanced around before heading over to an old shed that held the old training wooden swords and picked two up before walking back.

"I don't think pratice is a very good idea while my mind a mess" Pidge warned uneasy.

"You are like me, awful with words and bad at understanding feelings. Let me help you defeat your thoughts" Zarkon smiled, holding out the second wooden sword to her.

"Thank you, please just let me put my sword down" Pidge smiled and walked over to the side of the training dirt area, placing her sword back in its sheath before jogging over and taking the wooden sword.

"You seem rather skilled with a sword, It was rather impressive for me to watch" Zarkon smiled sweetly, getting in a fighting stance.

"Well sword fighting with Keith over who gets the dad talk by Shiro after we prank Lance dose that to a person" Pidge joked, getting into her own fighting stance and lifting the wooden sword.

"You don't speak much over your time before returning to your homeland. I'm worried for you, if you much rather return to a place that makes you happier then don't waste staying here. I wish for your happiness as much as I wish for my son and Matthew happiness" Zarkon replied with slight worry for  the young women before him.

"I became a knight, I was rather proud of who I became but I was also living a lie. Your letter reminded me who I truly am and I never told them. I don't regret leaving, this is my home and your my uncle. I just .. I miss them in a sense but I fear over them growing a hatred towards me. They became my own family, ones I care for and one of them, he became rather important to me" Pidge admitted as they started sword fighting together.

"So, you gained someone special to you" Zarkon asked amazed, he worried she would give up on love after his years of training.

"I have but I never told him, I'm scared to tell him in case he rejects me if I'm honest" Pidge replied, blocking an sword swing with her own sword making Zarkon jump back a little.

"And what if he loves you back" Zarkon asked carefully, dodging an attack she aimed at him.

"We can not be together, he is a prince and I-I'm an outlaw .. I lied to him, I gained his trust as Pidge but I never told him who Katie was. I know that if he ever hears the truth then I would hurt him and that something I couldn't live with" Pidge frowned, pain in her eyes as her sword clashed with Zarkon sword.

"I see, you fell in love with a prince of another kingdom" Zarkon sighed, understanding why her mind might be a mess.

"Its funny, he doesn't even know that I know who he truly is himself. He was so careful but he make a silly mistake of growing close to me. The drawing of his mother, then the second drawing he hid showed his full family and within seconds I worked out he was. I felt stupid for not noticing before, I mean he has the same face as his twin and yet I didn't notice" Pidge huffed back, feeling her mind being less fizzy as she fought with Zarkon.

"And did you hate him for lying to you, I'm guessing he still didn't speak the truth" Zarkon asked slyly.

"Of course not, I could never hate him" Pidge answered without needing to think making Zarkon smile.

"Then who says he will learn to hate you over your own lie. If he caught your heart this much then he must be a decent guy, why not give him a chance" Zarkon smiled softly as he stood with her wooden sword to his neck, clearly winning the match.

"I hate how you may be right" Pidge muttered back with a pout making the king laugh.

"I was once in your shoes, my wife was not born from royal blood and yet I fell in love with her and married her. Even had a son with her, life doesn't need to be set by rules. Test the waters, even if its just sending him a letter" Zarkon smiled as he lowered his sword.

"But what do I do if he feels the same, I've never fallen in love before and he has his own life to live. I don't know if we would last" Pidge asked with worry, slight fear in her eyes for the future.

"Just give it a try, trust me .. fate can work magic for some" Zarkon smirked before taking the wooden sword from her and walking away back within the castle not taking them back to the sheds.

"Fate is magical" Pidge agreed, after all it did bring her to him.
