back to the hospital

2 DAYS LATER

Penny was due for her check up on her cast. Sam had made sure that she was ok to go and made sure she properly ate for once.

"Ok you ready" eh asked as he helped her into his car

"Yeah, i guess so, i just want this cast off so i can go back to normal" she whined

"You do realise that after this os off you still have to take it easy" he grinned as Penny shot him a death stare

As they drove off Penny kept looking out the window. She had a dream last night. It was about Sam. He was in her dream in her bed. They were hugging and sharing company. She had wished it was real. It felt it at least.

After about 30 minutes, they arrived at the hospital. Sam helped Penny out of the car as she went inside

"Hello, my name is Penny Morris. I'm here for the check on my leg" she told her receptionist

"Ah yes. Please wait here while we tell him you are here" them receptionist replied as Penny sat down. Sam looked down at the woman he had been caring for the past few days. He would never admit it but he wanted to be back in her bed holding her in his arms again.

"Penny Morris?" A voice called as Penny looked up, sam followed as she headed to the room , sam in pursuit

"Ok, Penny, please take a seat while we get the scanner ready" the nurse smiled as she did, sam stood behind her chair and waited

"So Penny, let me check your leg if thats ok" she asked as Penny nodded

The nurse scanned Penny's leg, it had mostly healed

"Alright. Ok Penny. I'm going to take your cast off now, your not completely healed but you are enough to be without your crutch and cast on" she smiled kindly as Penny looked up at Sam all happy

"See! I told you!" she boasted as the ginger haired man looked at her

Sam looked at the woman before the nurse arrived back with a tool

"Ok Hold still for me please Penny" she instructed as she cut it open. Penny felt good when her leg had air for the first time in ages

"Finally!" she praised

"Well, hold on Penny" the nurse started " the cast may be off but you're still healing. You have to take it easy. You can return to work next week i reckon and i will inform your station officer about you having to only be on light duty for another week. After that, you may return to your regular firefighting. However need to see you next week to check its safe to return to the station" the nurse informed her

"Thank you" Penny smiled as she was handed a form and dismissed. Penny struggled to walk at first without crutches, however Sam was luckily there to catch her, as they got back into his car. Sam started a conversation with her

Returning to Penny's house, Sam helped her up the stairs as she wanted a nap. Apon getting into the bed, Penny asked Sam he thought he would never here

"Sam..Can you stay with me please. I keep getting nightmares and I'm scared" she confessed. Sam looked at the woman who looked like a scared kid at the time "Yeah, yeah of course i can Penn" he smiled as he got under the covers and pulled Penny close to him as she dozed off. This was Sam's dream, he never wanted this to end and to be honest, neither did Penny.
