The desert

"How could you let them take Appa?! Why didn't you stop them?!" Aang shouts at Toph and I.

"We tried ok?! I got out here just in time thinking I could save him but no! I got buried in sand instead! Toph was holding up the library literally saving your lives and all you can do is shout at us?!" I say to Aang.

"You could've come to get us, I could have saved him!" Aang says.

"By the time I would have found you guys in there Appa would already be gone! There's nothing we can do about it! We'll get Appa back soon enough so shut your air hole and cooperate!" I shout at him.

"Aang, stop it. You know they did all they could. Toph saved our lives." Katara says.

"Who's gonna save our lives now, we'll never make it out of here." Sokka says.

"That's all you guys care about, yourselves! You don't care whether Appa is ok or not." Aang sits down on the sand.

"We're all concerned, but we can't avoid to be fighting now." Katara says.

"I'm going after Appa." Aang says and takes off with his glider.

"Aang wait!" Katara shouts after him. "We better start walking." She says when Aang doesn't come back.

"I'll go after him, make sure he's ok. You take this." I say and throw my water pouch at her. "You need it more than I do, we'll meet you later."

Katara nods. "Don't be too harsh on him." She says

"I won't." I grab my glider from the sand and fly away.

I glide high into the sky and look around for Aang. I spot a red glider not too far away. I pick up speed and race after him.

"Aang, wait." I say as I catch up to him. He tries to fly away but I keep his pace.
"I'm sorry about what I said earlier, that was out of line. Appa will be ok, we need to help get everyone out of here." I try to reason.

"No, I need to find him. You go and help get them out of here if you care so much." Aang snarks.

"I know you're upset, but trust me, it's better that we stick together in this. We'll find Appa as soon as we get out of here, we should head back." I say.

"I said I'm going to find him. Just leave me alone." He says

I sigh. "Fine, just be careful, I don't want to loose you." I say to him.

I turn my glider around and look for my friends. I spot them walking down below and land infront of them.

"Did you find Aang? Will he come back?" Katara asks.

"He said he wants to be left alone, so I left him to it. He'll join us when he's ready. Right now we need to focus on getting out of here." I say and she nods.

We walk on for a bit when we see a huge dust cloud erupt from behind us. It must be Aang.

"What is that?" Katara says.

"What? What is what?" Toph asks cluelessly.

"It's a giant mushroom. Maybe it's friendly!" Sokka shouts.

"Let's just keep moving, I hope Aang's ok." Katara says.

"He'll be fine Katara, you should probably worry more about keeping Sokka away from the cactus juice." I say and laugh whilst I watch Sokka wave his arms around at the dust cloud.

We carry on walking for ages when Aang flies down and lands behind us.
"I'm sorry Aang, I know it's hard for you without Appa but we will find him. Right now we need to focus on getting out of here." I put a hand on his shoulder.
