Chapter 5

*A.I P.O.V*

I felt like nothing. Like the darkness just took over me and won't let me out. I could hear faint voices like they were screaming at me but in a whisper. I never thought dying would be like this. Is this really what it's like? Alone, voices screaming your name. The loneliness I felt before wasn't as bad as it is now. This kind just makes me feel empty and useless. Like I don't deserve to be in a peaceful world. Maybe Luke,Calum,and Michael were right. Maybe I do deserve this.

*L.H P.O.V*

We were in the waiting room of the hospital waiting for the ambulance to get here. After they took Ashton I ripped away from Mikey and Cal and ran to my car the boys followed me and got in. I drove as fast as I could probably getting more then enough tickets but right now nothing matters till I know he's okay.

Just then a paramedic team was running through the door. We stood up as a long beep was heard. And that beep caused my heart to shatter.

"Hurry! He's flat lining again?!"A nurse said as they started doing CPR on the gurney as they rolled through the emergency doors. I fell to my knees and I just let the tears fall down my face I didn't even care that people were watching. I just crawled over to a corner and pulled my knees to my chest and cried into them. I won't be able to live on this earth if I knew I was the cause of Ashton's death. Let alone that the last thing he heard from me was something totally and unbearably untrue.

I started breathing heavily and rocking slightly as I wheezed as well. Mikey looked over at me and knew something was wrong by the look on my face.

"Luke!"Mikey ran over Calum following after him.

I was shaking and I couldn't stop whispering Ashton's name.

"Luke. Luke listen to me okay you have to calm down."

I was crying and I couldn't breath. He was rubbing my back I closed my eyes and imagined Ashton drumming when he looked happy. Soon I started to calm down and breath normally. I leaned my head on the wall as silent tears fell from my eyes.

"Ashton Irwin?"the doctor called out. I stood up and walked over to him wiping my eyes.

"Yes?" My voice cracked a little.

"Well it seems that Ashton is a very remarkable patient after he started flat lining we took him back to a room and did CPR. Usually in a case like this the person would have died before we could save them. But it seems who ever had given him CPR before we got there kept his heart beating. Right now he's in a room he's stable but he hasn't woken up yet. If you want you can go and see him."

I nodded not able to speak.

We walked back to a room and the doctor opened the door and I walked in to see Ashton lying on the bed he looked pale except the darn bruise around his neck. He looked dead but I knew he wasn't from the monitor beeping over and over again.

I walked to the seat next to his bed and sat down I touched his arm with my fingertips. He was so cold I moved them down to his hand and I took his hand in mine and intertwined out fingers.

"Ashton you have to wake up. Please I need you I can't live knowing that. The last words I said to you were so hurtful an wrong. Ashton please wake up."

I put my head down on his hand and cried into it. I whispered please over and over again.

A few minute passed and I felt my hand move. I looked up and saw Ashton's fingers move.

"Ashton if you can hear me you have to wake up. P-please wake up"I cried."Ashton please"I whispered brokenly knowing he's almost there I want to hear him.

Time passed before I heard it the voice I've come to love.

"Luke?" He said softly.

"Ashton? Oh my god" I said squeezing his hand lightly.

"Luke what's going on?"he sounded kinda scared.

"Nothing nothing everything's okay now. Your okay." My voice cracked again.

"Luke why are up crying?"he asked sadly.

I shook my head and looked down.

"Ashton please don't do that again. I couldn't stand that you almost died in front of me. Ashton please." I begged looking up at him.

He nodded and shivered pulling the cover over himself.

"Are you cold?"I asked.

"Y-yeah" he said shivering. I looked around and I didn't see any thing to cover him up with and I felt really bad.

"There isn't anything for you to cover up with. I'm sorry."

He shakes his head."I-it's fine."he says smiling slightly still shivering.

I watched him for a second then got up.

"Scoot over"I said softly.

He did as told and scooted over enough for me to lay with him. I laid down next to him pulling the cover over us.

"Come here" I said opening my arms for him. He slipped into my arms and buried his face in my chest as I wrapped my arms around him. I rubbed his back lightly as he closed his eyes shivering less.

"T-thank you"he whispered sleepily.

"Anytime Ash." I said softly to him as we both fell asleep.

AN/ cute picture at the top/side Ashton is so adorable it's like Luke is his bodyguard. Might come in handy later in the story;)
