Lovely - Neville Longbottom

1.) Flame

"Nora! You and your father are going to miss the train if you don't come on darling!" Nora's mom yelled from the kitchen. "Coming mum!" Nora yelled.
Nora packed up the last bit of her clothes and put them in her trunk. She turned to look at herself in the mirror one last time. She chose to wear a grey sweater with loose jeans and some white sneakers. Once she was satisfied with her outfit she brushed her hair, picked up her two trunks and made her way to the front door. She went to the front door with her two trunks in hand and sat them down on the trolly her father placed there.

"I'm ready to go Dad!" Nora yelled. Nora's mother walked up to her. "Oh darling you look wonderful." Her mother said. "Thanks Mum." Nora said with a smile. "Ok it's 9:45. The train leaves at 11:00. We still have to get you the rest of the supplies on this list and we have to meet Florence at the train station. So if we're going to get that all done in the next hour we need to get a move on." Nora's father rushed. "Ok I hope you have a great time darling." Nora's mother said as she kissed her daughters head. "I love you Lydia." Nora's father said as he kissed her quickly. "I love you too Remus." Lydia smiled. "Ok Nora. Are you ready?" Remus asked. "Yes dad." She said. "Alright let's go." Remus said.
Remus grabbed onto Nora's arm and they apparated to Diagon Alley.

They landed in Diagon Alley surprisingly peacefully. "Alright so we have about forty-five minutes to get everything you need so go get you a wand and your pet and we'll meet right back here ok?" Remus said. "Ok dad." Nora said. The first store Nora went in was Olivanders to get her wand. "Why hello there. I'm Mr Olivander. And what might your name be? " the old man asked. "Um..Nora Lupin sir." She replied. "Oh my..you're Remus Lupin's girl aren't you?" He asked. "Yes sir." Nora replied. "I remember when your father came here for his first wand." Mr Olivander said as he grabbed three wands. "Oh this isn't my first wand! Mine kinda broke." Nora said. "Oh we'll do you remember what kind of wand it was?" He asked. "Yes, it was a 13 inch oak wood wand with a unicorn hair core." She explained. "Okay I may have the one you're looking for." He said. He went to the back of the store and pulled out a wand. "Here try this one." He said. She held it in her hand and red sparks began to fly out. Nora smiled and thanked Mr Olivander. Nora then paid for the wand and walked out of the store.

After that she went to The Magical Menagerie to shop for a pet. As she walked through the shop she saw many types of owls, cats, and toads. But there was one pet that caught her eye. It was a bit smaller than the others. It looked kind of like a lizard. It was purple with a few blue spots on it. She picked up the small cage to examine the animal. It looked up at her and put it's hand against the glass. She put her finger on it and smiled. 'This is the one..' Nora thought. She walked up to the counter and sat the cage down. "How much for this one?" Nora asked the woman at the register. "Oh this little thing? Oh I've been trying to get rid of it for days. You can have it dear." The woman said. "Are you sure?" Nora asked. "Yes dear." The woman smiled. Nora smiled back at the woman. Nora took the box and walked out of the store. She smiled at the animal and was on her way to meet her father. When she arrived to the spot her father was already there. "You got everything you need?" Remus asked. "Yeah dad." She replied. "Good. Feels good to have a wand that isn't borrowed aye" Remus joked. "Hey it's your fault mine broke." Nora joked back which made Remus laugh. "Okay. Enough jokes, need to go." He said. Nora nodded and put her animal on top of her trunk. And just like that they were off to the train station. They got there five minutes before the train left.

"Do you see Florence anywhere?" Remus asked Nora. Just before Nora got to answer a voice spoke up. "Well it took you long enough." The voice said. "Sorry Flo. My wand broke and I had to get a new one." Nora said. "How did you break your wand? " Florence asked. "Dad was trying to teach me defense spells and he blew up my wand." Nora explained. Florence laughed. "Haha very funny now let's go the train leaves in three minutes." Remus said quickly. They quickly crossed to the platform gave their trunks to the bellhop. Nora grabbed her pet and they all boarded the train. "Hey dad can I sit somewhere else?" Nora asked as her father went into a compartment. "Sure just meet me as soon as the train stops." Remus said as he sat down. Nora nodded and looked for an empty compartment with Flo. "Hey Florence!" A girl yelled. Florence turned and smiled. "Hey Padma." Florence said as she sat beside the girl Nora now knew as Padma. "Who's this?" Padma asked. "Oh this is Nora. She's new. She used to go to Beauxbatons." Florence smiled. "It's nice to meet you." Nora smiled. "You too." Padma replied.

Florence and Padma started talking leaving Nora to find an empty compartment by herself. After about a minute of looking she finally found one at the back of the train. She put her pet on one seat and sat beside it. Soon after she sat down the train left the station. She then took the hand sized creature out of it's cage and held it. "Now what are we going to name you?" Nora said smiling. The creature tilted its head and Nora smiled. Just then a voice spoke up. "Um c-can I sit here with you?" Nora turned.

It was a boy. He had a toad in one hand and a trunk in the other. "Sure." Nora said as she put the lizard back in it's case. "Thank you." The boy said as he put his belongings in the seat in front of her. When he sat down Nora got a better look at him. He had black shaggy hair and a grayish sweater. He was kinda cute. "I'm Nora Lupin..." Nora said as she held out her hand for him to shake. "..And you are?" Nora asked. "Oh! Um..Neville. Neville Longbottom." He said shaking her hand. "Nice to meet you Neville." Nora smiled. Neville smiled back.

"Who's this?" she directed towards the toad. "Oh this is Trevor." He said holding him out. " Wow.." she smiled as she held her hand out towards Trevor. "Can I?" Nora asked with her hand out, signaling to pet him. "Y-yeah. Go ahead." He said holding him out a bit. Nora caressed her fingers on Trevor's back, petting him. Nora and Neville both looked at each and smiled.

They continued talking about random things for about an hour. "I've never seen you around here before. Are you new?" Neville asked. "Yes. I went to Beauxbatons before this." Nora explained. "Oh...why'd you leave?" Neville asked. "My father got offered a job at hogwarts." Nora said. "That's cool. Who's that?" He asked signaling towards the purple lizard in the glass case. "Oh this? I don't know yet. I haven't named her yet." Nora said taking it out and holding the purple lizard in her hand. "Hmm...how about-" he said before being interrupted by the train stopping. "Why did the train stop?" Nora asked. "I don't know." Neville replied.

About three seconds later the lights in the train went out. "What's going on?" Nora said. It slowly started getting colder and the window in the compartment started to slowly frost. It got so cold that Nora started to shiver in her sweater. Neville saw this and gave her a jacket from his trunk. "Th-thanks." She stuttered as she went to grab the jacket. She shivered so much she couldn't even grasp the jacket. Neville stood up and put the jacket around her shoulders. She smiled up at him and thanked him and put her hands over the lizard. Suddenly the door slammed open.
They both turned their heads towards the door and a ghostly black figure entered their compartment. Soon enough they came face to face with it. Before anything happened, the lizard blew fire in it's face and it sped off out of the train. About 10 seconds later the lights came back on and the train started up again. "Wh-what was that?" Neville said. "I-I don't know." Nora replied holding the lizard up towards her examining it. "Flame." Neville said suddenly. Nora looked at him. "Huh?" she replied. "Th-the lizard. You should name her flame." Neville said.

"That name is just lovely."

A/N: Wrote like 40 percent of this in school but yeah I hope you enjoy this chapter.
I'm gonna try to post a chapter every Saturday or Sunday.
