Lovely - Neville Longbottom

12) Sweaters

It had been three weeks and Nora still refused to speak to Nicolle. Nora wasn't angry at her anymore, but she still didn't want to talk to her. Nicolle tried for weeks to get Nora to speak to her with no luck.
Currently Nora was on her way to the common area to go meet up with Florence for the hogsmeade trip. As she walked towards the common area she heard her name being called by no other than Nicolle. "Nora wait up!!" She yelled. Nora continued walking until Nicolle was stood right next to her. "You sure do walk fast." Nicolle said as she tried to catch her breath. Nora didn't acknowledge her. "Nora please. It's been three weeks. How many times do I have to apologize?" Nicolle begged. After walking for a bit longer Nicolle had backed off.

Nora met with Florence and they headed to the meeting place for kids to go to hogsmeade. The snow on the ground made it a little harder to walk without tripping. The girls finally made it to the carriages. There stood Neville standing with Seamus. Nora hadn't really spoken to Neville either purely because she was still a bit embarrassed of what had happened three weeks ago. "Hey Nora!" Seamus greeted "Hey Seamus. Hello Neville." Nora replied.  "Hello Nora. How are you today?" Neville asked her. "I'm okay. How are you?" Nora replied. "I'm alright thank you for asking." Neville smiled.

The four of them met up with Dean and got on a carriage. The first store they visited was Honeydukes. Nora was browsing through the sour candies with Florence following behind.  They were chatting when they spotted Nicolle standing in the isle next to them. Nora and Nicolle gave brief eye contact before Nora moved to another isle. "So are you and Nicolle still friends?" Florence asked. "No." Nora replied. "Is it because of what she said in front of Neville?" Florence said. "No I just don't wanna be friends with her anymore." Nora said. "But don't you think it's a bit silly-" "I appreciate you wanting to give your opinions and advice but I've made up my mind on this one so please don't try to change it." Nora interrupted. Florence raised her hands in surrender before catching up with other fourth years she ran into. 

Nora tried getting her mind off of the topic and decided to go to another store. When walking out she saw Neville browsing through lollies with Dean and Seamus. "Hello boys." Nora said. They greeted her and two of the boys continued to browse while Neville kept a conversation with Nora about various things. They were on the topic of reptiles when the lollipop that was in Neville's hand floated away. "Didn't know the lollipops liked to float." Nora joked. "Neither did I." Neville replied. "I was about head to another store anyways. Wanna come with?" Neville asked. "Sure." Nora replied. Neville smiled and walked of the shop with Nora following behind.

As the two walk together the inevitable question comes up. "Why did you stop talking to me?" Neville asked. Nora didn't know what to say. "Well...I was kind of embarrassed." Nora replied. "Of what?" Neville asked. "Of what Nicolle said. You know the crush thing?" Nora said sheepishly. "The what?" Neville said confused. "You know...she said I had a crush on you?" Nora explained. "She said that?" Neville said. "Yeah. You didn't hear her?" Nora asked. "No." Neville replied. Nora looked away, red faced at her own stupidity. "I'm sorry then for making it look like I was mad you." Nora said. "It's okay." Neville smiled. Nora smiled back and the pair continued to walk together.

They ended up at a clothing store where Nora bought a red knitted sweater and a new pair of jeans. Neville helped Nora pick out the sweater but didn't buy anything. "Why didn't you buy anything?" Nora asked. "I uh...can't really afford it." Neville said embarrassed. "Oh well I can buy something for you." Nora offered. "No! Really it's okay. I don't need you to buy anything for me." Neville said. "Well it's not an option. I'm buying you something." Nora said walking over to the men's clothing. Neville, seeing no point in arguing it, followed. Neville looked at many different things when his eyes fell on a navy blue striped sweater. "Do you like this one?" Nora asked. "I mean yes but-" Neville was suddenly interrupted by Nora quickly pulling the back of his collar. "Woah! What is happening." Neville said. "I'm checking your size." Nora said as she grabbed the correct sized sweater and begin walking to checkout. Nora bought the items without even looking at the price which was surprisingly not a lot.

The pair spent the rest of the trip walking around different stores and chatting about different things. Nora ended up buying a necklace you can enchant different pictures into. Neville ended up using his money to get a small journal to draw pictures into. They went back to their carriage with Dean, Seamus, and Florence and headed back to Hogwarts. The five peers chatted about their newly bought items and what stores they visited.

When they arrived back to Hogwarts, Nora immediately went up to the dorms to put her stuff away. While she was sorting through the items she started to mess with the necklace. She tried for about half an hour to get a picture to show up. She finally found the right spell and there appeared a picture with her mother and father. The picture showed them laughing and having a good time. Nora smiled at the memory and put the enchanted necklace around her neck.
