So these next I don't know how many chapters are gonna be kinda fluffy until we get to the intense part/more angst part. Enjoy my bad fluff writing.
Roman, Logan, Patton, and Virgil were sat with Thomas in his living room. Remus had run off as soon as they'd left Janus' room.
It had been three hours since they'd left Janus alone to sleep.
"I still can't believe he tried to hide that from us," Patton sighed. "It's scary to think that something like that could've happened and we might never've known because he didn't trust us enough to talk about it."
They all nodded gravely.
"This might be a little off topic," Roman said. "But wasn't his room beautiful? I'd've never pegged Janus as someone interested in stars!"
"Me neither," Thomas chimed in.
This just reminded him that there still things he didn't know about his sides - mostly the darker sides.
"Yeah, his room looks a lot nicer than it used to," Virgil said absentmindedly.
They all looked at him.
"What do you mean?" Thomas asked.
Virgil snapped back to reality.
"Oh, er, just that his room used to look a lot different."
"Well, maybe we've done enough digging into Janus' life for now," Patton told them. "We should be thinking about what to do next."
He rested his elbows on his knees and his chin on his hands.
"Priority one should be trying to break his 'I can do it alone' mindset," Logan said. "He needs to talk to us when he's distressed, especially over big things like what he's going through now."
"We still need to figure out what exactly it is that he's going through," Thomas said. "This has never happened to a side before has it?"
"Not to my knowledge," Logan told him. "Though, I am more than happy to do some digging and see what clues I can find."
"Then I guess we'll all try and work on fixing Janus' mindset," Patton said, looking at Roman and Virgil.
Roman nodded and smiled enthusiastically.
Virgil gave Patton a small grin and a much quicker nod than Princey.
"Is there anything I can do?" Thomas asked. Janus was one of his sides so he felt duty-bound to help out.
"Why don't you help me with research?" Logan suggested with a smile. "Our lore is entirely what you make it to be so maybe you subconsciously added additional lore to Janus?"
It made sense, but it was terrifying to Thomas that he could've unintentionally been the cause of Janus' suffering.
"Yeah, ok," he said slowly.
Logan nodded at him.
"Great."
"Why are you crying, Dee?"
"I-I'm not."
"Suuuuure. Whatever you say."
Silence.
"Pathetic little reptile."
Janus woke up after what felt like a lifetime, his body heavy and his mind hazy.
The memories of a few hours ago came rushing back into his mind and he groaned and planted his face into his hands.
He'd really broken down in front of them. All of them.
