This is kinda spoilery if you haven't seen season two of Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts.
Thomas sighed as he finished another one of Logan's books.
He'd been going through them since Logan had left earlier that morning, hoping to move things along a little faster, but he still hadn't found a thing.
Already tired and feeling his brain starting to lose focus, he decided to take another mental reset and went back onto Netflix.
Kipo was, again, what caught his eye. He went onto it and decided to rewatch season two episode 2. He liked the goats.
He finished the episode, satisfied that he could continue looking through more of Logan's books.
Turns out he actually couldn't.
Thomas' mind kept going back to the episode. He was thinking about when Kipo was making cheese with the goats and how they were slowly bringing out her jaguar side.
Slowly bringing out her jaguar side...
Wait. Could Janus be-
Thomas quickly got up and thought about the mind palace. He opened his eyes to find himself in the kitchen where the sides were sat having breakfast - even Remus was with them.
"Hey, Thomas!" called Patton.
"Morning, guys," Thomas said quickly. "Logan, can we talk for a sec?"
Logan stood up with a nod and took Thomas into the living room so they had a little more privacy.
"What is it, Thomas?" Logan asked curiously.
"I think I might know what's happening to Janus," Thomas told him.
Logan raised an eyebrow.
"Care to explain?" he prompted.
Thomas ran his answer through his mind before giving it.
"I think that Janus might be going through something similar to what happened to Kipo in Age of Wonderbeasts."
There was a hint of guilt in his voice.
Logan stared blankly at his host.
"Kipo goes through a lot in that show. What specifically are you talking about?"
Thomas rolled his eyes at the logical side but continued.
"The part with the goats in season two? Where they're making cheese and the goats are helping Kipo bring out her jaguar side?"
"If you're suggesting something to do with the goats then-"
"The jaguar side part, Lo," Thomas said with a note of exasperation. "I think I might have unintentionally made Janus' snake side a bit like what happens in Kipo - where she struggles to keep it in check and it tries to become the dominant part of her?"
Logan's eyes widened and he bit his lip as he thought about it.
"That does make sense. Like I said before: our lore is entirely what you make it and, since Kipo is one of the more recent shows you've watched so it's still fresh in your mind, it's not impossible that some aspects of the show were given to us."
Thomas nodded numbly. So it was his fault that Janus was suffering?
"Is there anything we can do about it?" he asked.
Logan thought about it then slowly shook his head.
"I don't think anything like this has happened before. At least not on this scale."
