Gabby's POV

I woke up to my phone alarm, Lexi was still sleeping. I hit the snooze button and glanced down at us, entangled on the bed, with Lexi's leg thrown possessively over me. I smiled to myself realizing how much I've missed this, and I can't wait to spend the rest of my life waking up to this. I got up early to go over the paperwork that my lawyers sent me, so she can sleep more. It's really hard to get out of bed when she's nuzzling against the back of my neck in her sleep. I carefully slipped out of bed, but can't help to stare at my sleeping beauty. I kissed her forehead and walked into the bathroom to brush my teeth and wash my face. I make my way downstairs and put on some coffee for me and for when Lexi wakes up. I checked my phone and have a text from Bri saying that all of us will meet at the courthouse.

I just can't wait for all of this to be over. Kami's wedding is next week, I begged her not to come and waste a whole day of wedding preparation to sit and listen to Marco try to lie his way out of prison, but she insisted on coming. I read the papers and rehearsal the answers to the questions that the lawyers think would be asked. One thing is for sure, he will pay for all of what he's done. In a way, I want him dead, but mom is right. That's too easy. I want him to know, that it was me who took away his right to be free. I want him to know that he will be alone the day that he dies. I want him to realize that he messed with the wrong girl. A pair of arms wrapped around me, snapping me back to reality. "Good morning," Lexi muttered. "Good morning, beautiful," I said giving her a sweet kiss.

She moves to the kitchen to fix herself a cup of coffee. "I woke up and you weren't in bed," she said. "I'm sorry, I wanted to go over the paperwork again," I apologized. "I know, but I would've loved to wake up to your face, in our bed, after having to wake up to you hooked up to a bunch of machines," she said. "Aww, baby," I said pulling her in my arms. "I'm so sorry," I said kissing her again. "How about I take you on a date tonight, to make it up to you," I said and she smiled. "I would love that," she said. She makes her way back to the kitchen while I kept on going over the paperwork.

I've been so focused on it that I didn't hear Lexi calling my name, not until she tapped my shoulder, startling me. "I'm sorry, didn't mean to startle you," she said and I smiled. "It's okay, what's up?" I asked. "I made breakfast," she said and I smiled. I put the paperwork in order and walked to the dining room with Lex. We sat down and dig in. "Mhmm, baby, this is so good," I said and she smiled. "Gosh, I'm so happy I don't have to eat hospital food anymore," I said and she laughed. "How are you feeling?" She asked and I took a deep breath. "I think... I'm okay, or at least I will be," I said and she nodded smiling. "I will be with you, always," she said and I smiled. "I know, and I will always be with you too," I said. "So, guess what I found out!" I tell her. "What?" She asked smiling. "My grandmother's name was Gabriella!" I tell her and she smiled. "And mom said that I reminded her of her," I said. My face hurts from smiling so big.

I never got to have grandparents, since Momma's parents died, and well Mom doesn't get along with hers. Although, she said she was considering visiting them and I wouldn't mind getting to know them. Auntie Mac said that they've changed. I hope that's true, I mean, after all, they kicked my mom out when they found she was gay. "I'll go get in the shower, wanna join me?" She asked. "I'll do the dishes first, and then I'll join you," I said and she nodded kissing me before making her way upstairs. I did the dishes, and hurried upstairs to join my beautiful girlfriend in the shower, to save water obviously! Someone has to care about the environment!

* Sometime later*

"Ready, my love?" I asked and she nodded smiling. "We're meeting everyone at the courthouse, right?" She asked and I nodded. We make our way down to the lobby and I have the valet bring my car. My sweet Aurora, I've missed her so much! "Can I drive?" Lexi asked. "Pretty please," she begged with best puppy eyes and I just can't say no to her. "Ugh, please be gentle," I said giving her the keys. We get in the car and Lexi looks like a toddler getting a new toy. I hope I don't regret this. The ride wasn't so bad, Lexi is surprisingly a good driver. She parks next to Bri's car and we made our way inside the courthouse. We said hi to everyone, but mom isn't here. "I'll be right back, I want to talk to my mother before everything starts," I tell Lexi and she nodded. I made my way around the courthouse, trying to find my mom. Maybe she isn't even here... As I made my way back to everyone, I heard mom's voice. She's on the phone with someone. I walked closer to try and hear who she's talking to.
