After 11 years

Chapter 9

Violetta's POV:

Da: "So are you a friend of Jess?"

V: "You could say that yeah."

Da: "What does that mean?"

V: "You'll find out."

Da: "Ooh mysterious, I like it. Okay let me just put my stuff in my room."

He walked out of the kitchen and into the living room, I was now actually getting something to drink. When I was just about to go to the living room Daniël walked back in and I just heard him say that he was getting something to drink.

Da: "So Violetta, do you want to come back to my room and chat?"

V: "Sorry, I was actually going to help your mom in the kitchen with the dinner preparations."

Da: "Oh she'll probably be fine without you."

V: "Well I actually promised her and I want to talk to her some more to get to know her better."

Da: "So you don't want to get to know me better?"

V: "Sure I do, but not in that way, I'm not single."

Da: "All things can be broken."

V: "Still, no thank you."

Da: "Fine, I'll talk to you later then Violetta."

I walked back into the living room and sat down on the sofa and started a conversation with Jess and Trace, after about half an hour Abby stood up.

Ab: "Violetta, shall we get dinner started?"

V: "Sure!"

Da: "Mom, do you need my help too?"

Ab: "Sure, all help is welcome, Jess can you help your father get the BBQ started?"

Je: "Sure!"

Abby, Daniël and I walked into the kitchen and started preparing diner, it was actually really nice getting to know Abby, she is a lovely women. Daniël was quiet most of the time, sometimes asking Abby something about dinner, but no flirting attempts surprisingly. When Abby did walk out to take something to the backyard then Daniël would start his really, really bad flirting again. No matter how many times I declined and told him I'm in a relationship, he wouldn't listen and would start flirting again.

Ab: "I'm going outside to get the table set up outside, can you guys finish up here?"

Da: "Sure mom."

Ab: "Thanks"

And she walked out again and the flirting started again.

V: "Daniël can you stop, I'm in a relationship and you're making me very uncomfortable."

Da: "And I said that everything can be broken."

He started walking towards me and I kept backing up.

V: "What are you doing?"

Da: "Why are you asking, do you feel butterflies?"

V: "No, I feel creped out!"

Then I heard the front door opened and Leon and Luke walked in. Luke walked to his room to put his clothes away and Leon walked into the kitchen, right when Daniël was about to kiss me.

L: "Dude, what the h*ll!"

Da: "Leon! It's good to see you again, I hope you're doing okay. I hope we can catch up sometime, but we were kind of in the middle of something."

L: "Well I don't know if it's good to see you again and I would appreciate it if you wouldn't continue with what you were doing."

Da: "Why?"

L: "Well first of all, she's clearly very uncomfortable..."

Da: "Oh no, she's just playing with me, she has been all day. Besides I don't need advise from you of all people, last time I checked you were still single."

L: "I really don't think she was playing with you and I also think that if you were to check now that you would realise I'm not single anymore, not at all."

Da: "You have a girlfriend, YOU of all people?"

L: "Well no, I don't have a girlfriend" Daniël smirked "I have a wife." Daniëls smirk disappeared.

Da: "Oh yeah, then where is she?"

L: "Right here"

Da: "Where I don't see her."

L: "That's funny considering you have been trying to flirt with her all day."

Da: "What...Violetta is your wife?"

V: "Guilty"

Da: "Why didn't you say something?"

L: "Because I asked her not to, I wanted to tell you that I got married before you did."

Da: "So you've been playing me?" he said turning towards me.

V: "No, I have declined all of your flirting attempts and I've told you that I'm in a relationship."

Da: "You didn't tell me that you were married, even if Leon wanted to tell me you could have said that you are married just not to whom."

V: "Well, if you payed attention to detail then you would have noticed my engagement and wedding ring. Besides it was fun to watch your flirting, I have to say that you should work on your flirting by the way. It's bad, you are so pushy when you flirt, start with compliments and only go further with the flirting if the lady responds to your flirting. Most importantly when a lady says that she's in a relationship, it means that you need to stop the flirting and back off!"

Da: "Usually women say that just to stop the flirting, not because it's actually true."

V: "Well that means that they don't like the fact that you're flirting with them. So no matter if it's true or not, when a lady says that she is in a relationship, you stop flirting or any other way of seducing!"

I then walked out of the kitchen into the backyard and heard Leon follow me.

V: "Abby the dinner is ready."

Ab: "Great! Thank you, I saw that Luke and Leon were already back too so we can sit at the table and start eating."

We walked to the table and sat down, I of course sat next to Leon. Jess wanted to sit on my other side, but unfortunately Daniël beat her to it. We all started to eat and it was delicious, we had a lot of conversations and it was nice to get to know them all.

Da: "So Violetta, what do you do for a living?"
