Once upon a time Izuku had been happy. He was on top of the world. He was close with his family, he had friends he adored, he had a job he enjoyed, and he had a boy he loved. When things got rough, Izuku reminded himself that he had time, he could always get those things back. He still had his boy, and that's all that mattered. He only needed Shoto right now. He only needed Shoto.

He never came across a time that made him rethink all that. He never came across a time that made him wonder if he would still have that time. Shoto was still. The eerie calmness surrounding him drained the life out of Izuku. He had the smallest smile painted on his face.

Everyone got out of the cars. Kacchan's buddies showed themselves in with a small greeting to Shoto. Kacchan followed after them, giving Izuku a glance before heading inside. Izuku kept his gaze down, he couldn't muster up the courage to even glance at Shoto. He couldn't handle his cold gaze. Not right now. He was running on no sleep and he wasn't sure where he stood with Kacchan anymore. Izuku simply couldn't deal with Shoto at this moment. Shoto was standing on the steps to the entrance. Izuku was still standing next to Kacchan's car. "Can we not do this now?" Izuku forced out, his hopes high. Maybe at least they could do this somewhere prying eyes couldn't watch. He snuck a peek at Shoto's face and quickly redirected his eyes. Shoto looked normal, he looked perfect. Not a single emotion breached his walls of ice.

"Why don't you come inside." Shoto spoke, his voice monotone and empty. Izuku didn't have the energy to nod. He shakily followed Shoto inside and up to his room six steps behind him. Izuku clicked his bedroom door shut and in that moment he felt an ice-cold hand push against his throat. He heard a thump sound as his body was pinned against the wall by Shoto's hand at his neck. Izuku let out a panicked whine and Shoto tightened his grip. He could still breathe but only in short bursts. "Where were you?" Shoto asked, his voice laced with freezing venom. Izuku tried to answer but instead, his stress came pouring out of him. He started balling his eyes out. Shoto threw him to the ground in a ridged motion. His back collided with the edge of his bed and he let out a cry of pain. "Answer me!" Shoto shouted and stamped his foot. Izuku curled up into a defensive ball on reflex. He tucked his head in and covered it with his arms while his legs came up to his chest.

Shoto kicked him in his sides several times before shouting again. "Who do you think you are? I've given you everything! Are you not grateful for any of that?" Shoto was screaming at him now. "I let you live here! I feed you the finest cuisine! You have the latest fashion in your closet! You have the most expensive technology at your fingertips! What more could you want? Am I not good enough for you, you ungrateful bitch!" While Shoto was taking his screaming break, Izuku, trembling, got up to his feet. He swayed on them but held his ground firm.

At first his voice was shaky but he steadily grew strength. "WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?" He screamed. He couldn't pinpoint where this newfound confidence originated but he wasn't about to look that gift horse in the mouth. "Do you think this is normal?" He cried out. "Do you think the yelling, the broken things, the bruises, are normal?" Izuku didn't even realize he had been kicked in the face, he must've because his nose was bleeding. He wiped the blood away with his hand and stretched it out in front of him towards Shoto. "Do you think this is normal?"

Shoto was at a loss for words. Izuku had completely taken him by surprise, he's never stood up to him like this before and he wasn't sure he liked it. "What is 'normal' doesn't matter! You belong to me, you are supposed to obey me!" He growled. "You blatantly disobeyed me!" Shoto defended. "I ordered you not to leave the premises without permission and to stay far away from Bakugo but you snuck off with him anyway!"

"Boyfriends don't give their boyfriends orders!" Izuku spat out. He was still crying, the tears flowed mercilessly down his cheeks. Neither of them had dared say the b word for a long time and the word choice shocked both of them. Izuku stiffened as he saw Shoto clench his fists.
