Izuku spent his days and nights by Kacchan's side, though he occasionally left the house with the Bakusquad. Kacchan had made it clear that Izuku was free to leave whenever he desired but the green-haired boy preferred to stay in the safety of his new home. The threat of Todoroki still lingered, he doubted it would ever fade completely though day by day he ventured farther and farther from his safe haven.

His relationship with Kacchan had only grown, Izuku had put his trust fully in the man, how could he not? Though there was a sliver of doubt rooted in him. Just like Todoroki had, Kacchan kept him separated from his work, besides the day he had been questioned about Todoroki's business. It was only casual conversation though.

Izuku had lived with the prickly man and the Bakusquad for over a month now. For once in a long while, he felt safe.

That all changed today.

He may as well start at the beginning.

Izuku's eyes fluttered opened, he reached his arms out to stretch and lightly bumped into the warm body next to him. He brought his eyes over the ash blond sleeping next to him. Kacchan was shirtless, if Izuku was going to be honest, wearing a shirt in bed was pretty uncomfortable. He felt a smile creep onto his face as he gazed at the man's features. Kacchan shifted and brought his arms up and folded his hands under his head. He brought his eyes to Izuku and asked with a smirk. "Like what'cha see?"

Izuku giggled and flopped onto Kacchan's chest, nuzzling his head into the crook of his neck. He felt strong arms fit perfectly around his body. They stayed that way until the morning rays of sun moved their way onto their faces through the window.

That day Kacchan had cooked breakfast himself for Izuku and the Bakusquad.

This was the first red flag, Kacchan was being nice. Kaminari had pointed out that Izuku must've been turning Kacchan soft for him to be cooking for everyone, which in turn caused Kaminari to lose his food privileges. Izuku supposed he really did bring out the best in Kacchan.

They planned to go out and shop the whole day as a group. It was going without fault, Izuku was having a perfect day. He should've known he couldn't have a perfect day. It was dark when the stores finally closed and kicked them out.

The second red flag was when Kirishima got into the car with Izuku and Kacchan. He had said his car was filled with shopping bags and Kirishima was the only one Kacchan trusted not to make a mess in his car.

The real tell that something was off was the look in Kacchan's eyes. They were hard, and focused. He had a tight grip on the steering wheel, he didn't glance Izuku's way once. Izuku was stressing over if he had somehow done something wrong to make Kacchan ignore him like this. He had tried his best to make conversation but he was only met with short, one word answers. A feeling of foreboding sunk him down in his seat. To get his mind off of it, he drifted his eyes out the window.

His heart sped up. This wasn't the road back to the mansion.

Bump bump bump.

He frantically turned back to Kacchan. "Where are we going?"

Kacchan was silent. His gaze centered on the road in front of him. The lights outside were getting dimmer, buildings around them became weathered and worn down. The streets were ghostly empty. For the first time, Kacchan glanced at Izuku and spoke. "Just relax. Everythin's gonna turn out just fine." His tone was serious.
