"Haizzz~"

I let out a sigh of tardiness. It could be more of a yawn should someone view it like so.

I can't concentrate in anything theoretical. For instance, I can't still make exact sense of how my spell works. I am like, just do it by instinct.

My eyes dash around the class when time like this is to come. Even I notice it myself, I have been more observant than before. I would periodically dig a little deeper than a first eye met.

I would talk to someone who has just an idea to get the information of my subject of interest.

In another word, I just asked Kushida whenever I wanted to know something. She, for some reason, is very integrated with everyone, not just in my class.

It has been a month almost since our first year in the academy began. By week, this is the forth week and it has just started.

According to the weekly report, it seems like we have not made much progress in studying since the first day, including me. I started to get why we are in the D-class in the first place. But, to be fair, I still don't know how the school works, as the only other class of our year is class-A.

Speaking of class-A, even after the incident with them resolved, and Sudou was proved innocent, thanks to Hirata; we still repeatedly got complaints from classmate of how violent he is. That is to say, we have a troublesome classmate.

It's late to say it right now, but my class has a lot of weird cases. I'm mentioning this right now because there is this specific case that is getting on my nerve.

Ryusuke Kouenji, what best to describe him, he may have a superiority complex. He would spend his time laughing with a non-caring attitude, occasionally take out a hand mirror and sweep his hair, and then start complimenting himself.

I don't know exactly his background, but he seems to come from a prosperous household. Even though the Institution forbids student to get outside cash in, he would still brag about how wealthy he is.

I start to wonder if the Institution is turning a blind eye on him, as in the weekly report, he skipped practice time to time.

Still, it seems like he wouldn't make trouble fall upon himself.

"Karuizawa, pay attention. This part is very important."

It brings me back to my sense when Chabashira-sensei calls my name. I am getting used to being called like this, I just can't focus.

This subject that I am learning is history, in which one learns about the history of mankind and other races that reside in the world.

"As you lot have learned from the previous lesson, the world have been through three big wars and as a result, a race went extinct after each. We are not talking about that today, as today main subject is about the races themselves."

Sensei shows us a diagram of different races and their affinity with magic.

"Our main interest of study is their affiliation with certain Magic type. Please take a look at the diagram in your book yourself."

It's picture... but still. Just looking at it tires my eyes.

"As you can see, these are the major races in the world along with their magical affinity. Demons who sought darkness, is the root of Dark magic. Angels, who cherish light and happiness, adopt light magic. Dragons wish to burn the world and adopt flame. Unfortunately, you lot don't get to see any dragon, drake, wyvern or wyrm anymore; they are proven extinct."
