I open my eyes and I see that I'm lying in a hospital bed. I have no clue how I ended up here and not... Dead. The boys were going to kill me! ... But not Niall. I wonder if it was him who brought me here. Or he's possibly dead... Or the gunshots were heard and someone found me. But wouldn't they encounter the boys first? Or the boys escaped then I was found after? Well either way, I'm now awake in the hospital.

I can't move my head as much, because the cut on neck makes it too sore to move my head. "You're finally awake! How are you feeling?" A nurse who I didn't notice who was sitting beside me, says. "Confused..." I answer. My voice sounds very hoarse. But it was still understandable. "Confused about what?" She asks, "Who brought me here?" I ask.

"A blonde man. He sounded Irish." The nurse replies and I instantly know that it was Niall. But, why didn't kill me like how the others wanted to? Ugh, I don't want to even think of them. "Where is he now?" I ask. "He's actually in the waiting room. I guess you'll be ok with a visitor. Do you want to see him?" The nurse asks me. "Yeah," I whisper. The pain on my throat kills me when I talk.

The nurse gets up. "I'll be back in a second," She says and she leaves the room and returns about a minute or two with Niall following after her. I take in Niall's attire. He's wearing a blue button-up shirt with black jeans and his hair in it's usual quiff, but his hair looks washed. He cleaned himself up.

"Hey..." He nervously says and sits down on the chair beside me. I say nothing at first but I only stare at him before answering. "Hi." I whisper. Whispering doesn't make my throat as sore. The nurse does some checking on things about me and I remain, mainly staring at him rather than speaking to him. "Where are the others?" I finally break the tension between us.

"They left," Niall says and looks up at the nurse to make sure that she's probably not watching. "They left on a road trip," Niall returns his gaze to me and gives me a look meaning that they certainly didn't go on a road trip. They got away.

I slowly sigh. I was going to ask another question, but the nurse stopped me. "I'm sorry for interrupting, but would you mind answering some questions for us, Mackenzie?" The nurse asks. I inhale a deep breath of air. My mind starts racing with lies to stop the truth from being found out. I know, I shouldn't be lying and I should get Niall's ass behind bars but I cant. I just... Can't!

"Ok." I whisper after a few seconds. "Alright, so do you remember anything that occurred before you woke up here in the hospital?" She asks. Here we go. I hope this works.

"Well... I was attacked, as you can see." I speak the truth, the first question answered truthfully. "Ok and where exactly did this attacking occur?" The nurse asks.

"At PineGrove Hotel." I answer. I ignore Niall as I answer. I don't need any distractions from my upcoming lie. "You mean... P-PineGrove Hotel? Where a murder occurred just recently?!" The nurse asks, shocked.

"Yes. That woman murdered was my mother. Police were closing the scene, well that's what I think but it seemed obvious that it might have been that way. Anyways, I was eager to find clues to finally get the murder behind bars. So each day, I looked around the hotel searching for whatever. But... One day, there were intruders I guess. There were four of them..." I say and look towards Niall.

He looks shocked, but covers it up well. I carry on with the lie, even though I shouldn't lie. What is wrong with me?
