Chapter 14

"Thank you so much guys. I love all of you and I'm so lucky to have you" Tears fill my eyes but I don't let them fall.

Today's my birthday. Last week was Dan's. We made a deal that we will exchange gifts at the same time which will be after a couple of days from my birthday. Maybe because it'll be more special.

Perfume, red scarf, black t-shirt with my favorite qoute on it and a beautiful necklace from mom that grandma gave it to her, were my gifts.

They brought me a cute blue cake and I love it. We made some food, we danced and goofed around and I really had an amazing time.

"You're our friend Jade, no need to thank us" Nina says and puts her arm around my shoulders. I grin and nod.

"What does it feel to be eighteen?" Alex asks me smiling.

"It feels great" I laugh.

"I can't believe my baby girl is eighteen. She's a young lady now" mom wipes some tears from her cheeks. My eyes instantly fill with tears and I hug her.

"Time for us to leave" Jessie says while he and Ell stand up and come to hug me.

"But it's early" I frown.

"It's ok. We had alot of fun" Ell assures me and hugs me.

I hug them both and lead them to the door.

Next. Nina and Alex leave so it's just me, Dan, Tania, Carla and mom.

"We're leaving too" Dan announces.

"Oh. Ok" he hugs me and then we exchange goodbyes.

"See you tomorrow" he kisses my cheek and leaves.

"Dan? What's wrong?" He's been distant and acting weird all day.

He's taking me home from school.

"Hmm?" He asks me.

"I asked. What's wrong? You've been acting all weird and strange" I tell him.

"Uh. Nothing. Just a bit tired." He says.

"Ok..." I say. Not believing him but I drop the subject for now.

"Me and Nina and Elleanour are going to the salon in two hours. I won't be calling you tonight. Ok? I'm already tired but I couldn't say no to the girls" I tell him.

"Oh ok. Have fun" he gives me a small smile but it doesn't reach his eyes.

I kiss him and get out of the car. I know there's something bothering him but I don't know what is it.

" I hate pink!" I say. "I'm gonna choose navy blue" I decide.

"Oh come on Jade. All girls like pink" Nina says.

"Not me" I give her a grin.

We're getting our nails done. We've been trying to choose colors for ten minutes now.

"Got it!!" Elleanour almost shouts when she founds the color she wants. Her black her falling on her face after she stood up from her position on the floor.

"Really Ell?. thats the color you've been looking for?... I showed you the same color but you told me no!?" I throw my hand in air.

"Noo. not the same the shade" she says calmly while smiling innocently.

"Its purple!!!" Me and Nina say at the same time, annoyed. "The only shade of purple here". I say.

"Chill out" she says and we stare at her not believing Her calmness. She's been always the chill and calm girl. I swear sometimes I want to hit her on the head for being so calm.
