Kuroo finally emerged from the building to see Akaashi pacing back and forth, fiddling with the corners of the plastic case on his phone. Akaashi's head snapped up to meet Kuroo's eyes. Kuroo walked the last few steps to be at talking distance from Akaashi.
"Hey, dude. So... how was it?"
"Mm. It wasn't that bad. Although, there was this one woman who was very... physical."
"Oo. That's rough. Did you find someone who sparked your interest?" Asked Kuroo, quirking an eyebrow with a smirk.
"Ah, well... there was this one... guy..."
"Ohooo! Did you get his number?"
"Ah... yeah."
"LOOKIT YOU! GETTING DATES AND PHONE NUMBERS ALL BY YOURSELF! *sNifF* they grow up so fast!"
"Haha... yeah, thanks mom." Said Akaashi, rolling his eyes.
They got in Kuroo's car and began their short drive back to Akaashi's apartment. Kuroo glanced at Akaashi every now and then. Watching as he checked his phone every few minutes. Kuroo smirked.
"Has he said anything?" Akaashi switched his gaze from the glossy screen of his phone to Kuroo's eyes.
"He- he asked me to meet up with him tonight to... to go on a walk..."
"Oop- where are you guys meeting?"
"Mm. He said to meet outside this one coffee shop next to that new mattress shop. It's not that far away from my apartment, so I can easily walk there."
"Oh, CoOoOoOoOoOl" said Kuroo snickering.
Akaashi replied to Bokuto's text with a simple "ok," before sliding his phone back into his pocket.
"What's he like?"
"Mm. He's very... interesting. He was very loud and... kind, he said my eyes were pretty..." Akaashi mumbled the last part out, but that seemed to be the only part Kuroo heard.
"Ooooooo! Looks like Cupid hit hard today!"
"Mm. I guess... enough about me, did you find anyone in particular?"
"Ah yeah... their name is Kenma.... and OBVIOUSLY they fell for my devilish charms right away."
"Aha... no offense, Kuroo... but, if they fell for your "devilish charms" right away, I don't think they're your type. Considering the typical type of person you would be attracted to is the person who acts like you are a piece of shit."
"Haha, yeah, you're right. They barely even acknowledged me. They spaced out, and didn't make eye contact, and responded with only one or two worded answers... but damn did that light a fire under my ass. It only made me want to make them like me even more."
"Mm."
They arrived back at Akaashi's apartment building and they bid each other farewell. Akaashi watched Kuroo drive off before he headed into the building. He checked the time, 9:32. I still have a few hours til I need to meet up with Bokuto... Akaashi walked to his kitchen and began to prepare a snack. He cut up some cabbage and carrots. He put broth into a pot and put it on the stove under a flame. After the broth came to a simmer he plopped the cut up vegetables into the broth and let them warm. He added spices, adding flavor to the soup. He finished cooking the small portion of soup and poured it into a bowl. He sat on the couch and snapped on the television. News, talk show, reality tv, game show, National Geographic... ahhh, just what he wanted... the conspiracy theory talk show. He nestled further into the couch and watched the screen intently while quietly slurping the soup.
