Getting on the train this year was completely different. I was a death eater, this school year I'd be doing anything other than school work. I had a task to complete, everything else would be insignificant. I joined my usual carriage, Blaise and Pansy waiting for me, their anxious eyes hanging onto me.
"No need for that look," I commented. "I'm perfectly fine, can we just go back to normal." I lied, I didn't need them loitering around me all year, otherwise I'd never get this task completed. Pansys face lit up, a cunning smile growing on her face.
"So you're over it?" She sang. I just shrugged my shoulders in response. "Well that's good news." She continued before she went onto a long detailed story of her summer. Didn't sound very fun to me but it was a far better improvement to my own.

"How's your mum holding up?" Blaise asked, commenting on the absense of my dad, thanks to him getting locked up in Azkaban.
"Well," I let out a sigh. "When I say there is a hell, believe me. I've seen it." The truth was my mother was completely lost without him, get dragged down a dark whole with Bellatrix choosing for her.
"I'm sorry about that." He apologised. "Send her my apologies." He added and I simply nodded my head.
"It's absolutely cruel what they're writing about your family in the papers!" Pansy argued. "It shouldn't be allowed." I ignored what the daily prophet had to say, along with the dirty looks from everyone who read it. It was beginning to bother me less.
"They can write what they want." I shrugged. "I couldn't give two fucks."

A cloud of black smoke took over all of our visions, left in darkness, I jumped up at first thinking it was an attack. But as my view began to clear, no one was there.
"What the hell was that!" I spat, looking around frantically.
"Probably the first years," Pansy covered. "It's nothing Draco, sit down." I took one last look before returning to my seat. "You're so jumpy." She commented on my actions.

"Won't be long till we're back at Hogwarts." Blaise added, not sounding too thrilled.
"Hogwarts." I spat. "What a pathetic excuse for a school." I continued.
"Come on it isn't too bad, you've got us." Pansy tried lightening the conversation.
"Let's just say you won't see me in charms next year." There wouldn't even be a Hogwarts by next year if Voldemort was to succeed and he would. Blaise chuckled at my comment. "Amused Blaise?" I slit my eyes at him.
"Everyone knows your shit at charms anyways." He chuckled. True but not the point.
"We will see who's laughing at the end." I seethed, they both shot one another and awkward glance.

In the silence I heard a ruffle at the top where our bags were held. Looking up I saw a slight movement. We were being spied on, that's what the black smoke was. It was obvious who was so intrigued in our conversation and I would make sure he got exactly what he deserved. When the train came to a holt, I held my position, sitting eagerly in my seat. Pansy and Blaise got up heading for the exit but then looked back at me, unsure.
"You two go on." I told them. "I wanna check something." They didn't need anymore convincing, they excited the train. I waited for everyone else to leave, making sure I was on my own. Grabbing my bag, I headed for the door, closing it and shutting all the blinds that were on the train.
"Didn't mummy ever tell you it's rude to eavesdrop Potter." I seethed. "Petrificus totalus!" I casted at his hiding spot, the bag tumbling to the floor. Paralysing him from head to toe. Snatching the cloak off him revealing his move less body.
"Oh yeah, she was dead before you could wipe the drool from your chin." I spat. Looking at his stupid face I couldn't hold back the urge I had. Kicking him straight in his face I felt no remorse.
"That's for my father! Enjoy your ride back to London!" I chucked the cloak back over him. Least that would get Potter off my back for the year.

Joining the others had become more difficult than I'd expected. Hogwarts had upgraded their security, it was intense, ridiculous. Knowing that a simple vanishing cabinet was too fool them all. There was no escaping the Dark Lord. But eventually I joined them in the great hall, Pansy moving over making space for me to sit with her. She looked at me with a confused glare. I cocked a brow at her.
"You've got blood on your cheek." She rubbed her thumb across my face slowly, collecting the small red freckle from my cheek. She didn't ask my any questions and it was good because I wasn't going to tell her anything. But she clocked Harry's appearance, the blood still streaming from his nose. Her eyes switched back to my face.
"He was listening to our conversation." I said blandly and she just looked straight back at Harry.

As soon as Dumbledore stopped his lecturing, I jolted up eager to try find my way to the hidden vanishing cabinet. But I wasn't able to escape Pansys grip.
"Why do you think Potter was listening on our conversation?" Her eager eyes latched onto mine.
"You still going on about that." I huffed trying to free myself but she wasn't done.
"I just don't get why-" she started but I  interrupted.
"He's a nosey prick, don't let it bother you." I said before tugging myself away from her hold. "I'll meet you later in the common room." I said and she nodded her head smiling. Pansy smiling was a rare sight, I wondered what was up her arse to make her so cheery.

I searched everywhere, I was becoming hopeless. Where could it be hidden? Reaching the seventh floor I was starting to become restless, the building pressure crowding my every thought. The sweat building on my forehead, I wiped at it, pushing my hair back, trying to control my erratic breathing. I needed to relax, I would never find it in this state. But that's when it appeared, a door emerging from the empty rooms. The room of requirements. Why didn't I think of this? It only appears when a person is in great need of it! The vanishing cabinet was in here! Without wasting another second I rushed inside, eager to find it. The room looked completely different to when I last saw it. No mirrors, no empty space. It was littered with furniture, the intensity of it crowding the air. It seemed never ending, like it went on forever, items stacked up high and out of reach. I went row by row, taking in even the smallest of items in. But still no luck. I felt like I was back at stage one, still as lost and confused. I'd been up all night trying to find the damn thing and still it was useless.

I woke up, somehow sprawled out on the floor in the room of requirement. How had I fallen asleep? It was two am, I had been here for hours, still unable to find the cabinet but I wasn't going to be able to look all night. I need to get some rest, I'd try again tomorrow, at least I was getting somewhere. As soon as I exited, the door disappeared, I was thankful that it was only me who could find this because it was only me who needed it. This meant there was no way I was going to get caught, lifting the weight on my shoulders slightly.

When getting back to the common room I was surprised to see the dark hair leaned up against the sofa. I went over, she was fast  asleep. I nudged her slightly in attempt to wake her up.
"Pansy," I said. "Get up." I ruffled her arm once more. Her eyes shot open, she looked like a deer in head lights. "What are you doing down here? Get to bed." I instructed. But she didn't move.
"I was waiting for you, where had you gone? It's two am Draco." She sounded hurt for some reason. I didn't know I was still on police watch.
"It's nothing." I tried but she shook her head not having any of it. "I'll tell you tomorrow, let's just get to bed." I grabbed her hand to pull her up from her comfy spot. "I'm knackered and so are you." I said and she finally complied, both heading down to our rooms.
"Goodnight Draco." She hummed and I simply nodded my head, watching her slip into her room.
