Calum's POV

I walk into my first class of my new school, I see this beautiful girl sitting near the front. She has medium length brown hair, and beautiful brown eyes.

As the guidance counsellor introduces me to the class I just scan her body up and down several times with my eyes. I can already tell that I'm most definitely not her type, every school I go to everyone immediately starts talking about me because of my tattoos and my "bad boy" style and im sick of it.

See, my life has not been very easy. When I was in year 5, my mum died. I remember it perfectly, I was in class with Mrs. Fray when I was called up to the office, my dad was up there and he said we had to leave. He told me he found her gasping for air, barley breathing on the kitchen floor.

He stayed very calm while in the school but when we reached the car he started shouting at me that she has just stopped breathing, they didn't know why though. He said the stress killed her and she was stressed because of my bad grades in school and the problems we were having with money.

We never ended up going to the hospital. We went straight home and he locked me in my room.

For the longest time I really did think it was my fault but when I finally came to realization that it wasn't, I challenged my father on that. We argued for hours at a time about was who's fault it was.

This was when my dad started abusing me. When I won those arguments my punishment was no dinner and a slap in the face.

This went on for so long I couldn't stand it anymore. When I was about 16 years old, I stole money from my father and bought my self a plane ticket. I didn't care where I was going I chose what ever flight was leaving next and drove to the airport in my dads car, which I also stole the keys for, I remember how nervous I was, I only had my permit then and I had never travelled on my own.

The ticket I had bought was a one way to North Carolina. I had no idea where I was going to sleep, but anywhere would be better then my house.

I ended up sleeping on a bus bench, the hut around it kept me dry from the rain, but I was used the the heat and humidity of Australia.

I slept on that same bench every night. One day I got a job and saved up enough for an apartment. I only lived there for about a month before my dad tracked me down and hauled my ass back to Australia.

Once again I tried running away. This time to Pasadena, California. I already had a car and some money. So as soon as I got there, I hooked my self up with an apartment, and have been living there since.

So long story short, I am not really the bad boy I sell my self off to be. That "bad boy look" is just the armour I needed to protect my self from the world that would see me as the soft kid to pick on.

I may look bad to the naked eye, but in fact really, all my tattoos are there to remind me of my mum. Also, I have a bird tattoo with my sisters name "Mali-Koa" on it on my arm.

Deciding not to bother the girl I took a seat next to this other chick. Honestly, she looks like a groupie but I will admit, she is pretty hot.

She is not beautiful like the other girl, but I would definitely consider her for a one night stand.
***
Second period was basically a repeat of first, the guidance counsellor introduced me to the class and I looked for hot girls.

There didn't really seem to be any so I sat down beside someone who seemed to be a tall male with fabulous hair, that may have sounded gay, but his blond hair was perfectly quiffed. I'm sorry but I will admit this guy has hair goals.

"Hey man, what's your name?" I asked the blond boy, trying to be as least awkward as possible.
"Oh, hey, my names Luke" He replied with a bright smile. Well, that's one possible friend. "What about you?" He asked. "Oh, I'm Calum"

When I talked to him, I noticed he had a slight Australian accent, not a thick one, but it was definitely there. "I'll have to ask him about that later" I thought.

"Nice, we should hang out sometime, you know get to know each other, in the least creepy way possible" I said smiling, I barley new the guy and I already felt comfortable around him.
"Ya, how about when this period is over we skip the rest of the day. You can meet my mates Ashton and Michael"
"Sounds good" I said giving him two thumbs up.
