jennie made her way to lisa's room. it was 2am and she needed to pee. she and the taller girl shared the bathroom in lisa's bedroom. since their bedrooms were right in front of each other, it was more convenient for jennie to use their shared bathroom than to walk to the other side of the dorm.
unexpectedly, the lights in lisa's room were on and the younger girl was very much awake. laying in her bed with her phone against her ear, laughing at what the other person said.
"oh, hey, unnie." lisa noticed jennie come in.
"hi. who's that?" jennie asked as she closed the door.
"niki."
oh.
"do you need anything, unnie?"
"i just need to pee."
"okay." said lisa before shifting her attention to the woman she was talking to on the phone.
jennie made her way to the bathroom, closing the door behind her as she saw herself in the mirror.
she looked tired. comeback preparations were extra tiring this time around since they were in the middle of their asia tour. today was their one-day break and they'll have to go back to work.
and she wasn't totally over her and jongin's breakup. they were forced to separate once the news came out, but they didn't and kept going around in secret. one day, they stopped. they stopped calling each other, stopped meeting up, and the moment the man finally talked to her was to break up.
what hurt her was jongin didn't even have a reason. all he told her was that he couldn't do it anymore.
and that was goodbye.
her mental health's seriously going down the drain and her being affected by the shit people write on the internet was just the cherry on top.
she tries to be strong but it just gets overwhelming sometimes.
thankfully, she has her three favorite girls by her side.
rosie was always the one who understood her the most. her breakdowns, unexpected mood changes, or sudden outbursts, rosie understood every single complication in jennie's life. she was always there to offer jennie a shoulder to cry on when she needed one, hell, she'd offer her entire body as a tissue to the older girl if she could.
jisoo and her had always been joined by the hip. they were practically the same person aside from a minor differences here and there. jennie would describe jisoo as her soulmate. jisoo gives jennie a reason to wake up each day. she brings light and joy to jennie's life.
and lisa has always been special to her. lisa gave her the feeling of being found. the feeling of home. the feeling of knowing that you're not alone in this world and that you have someone to lean on. but jennie would be lying if she saw lisa as a friend or a sister. she always considered lisa as her biggest what if. she was sure that if they weren't idols, if they had nothing to risk, they'd be together.
but life had different plans.
oh well, jennie doesn't mind it that much. atleast not anymore.
a knock from the door startled her.
"yeah?"
"unnie, you've been there for a while. i got worried." lisa said from the other side of the bathroom door.
"i'm alright." jennie answered.
"unnie?" lisa called out once again.
"yeah?"
"do you wanna watch a movie?"
jennie rolled her eyes, "aren't you sleepy? staying up all night to talk to niki over there?"
"nope." said lisa, "besides, it's been a while since we hung out with just the two of us. ever since those two came in the picture i never had you to myself again." lisa joked.
jennie chuckled, "things happen when you have me to yourself, lisa."
"can we just, you know, forget about that? and hang out just like the old times?"
"the door isn't locked, you know? you can come in." said jennie.
lisa entered the bathroom, wearing nothing but a white tank top and grey sweatpants. her blonde hair was in a messy bun but her bangs were still in place.
"why are your bangs so perfect?" asked jennie with a tone mixed of genuine confusion and amazement.
"because i am." lisa smirked.
jennie scoffed, "that doesn't even make sense."
lisa chuckled before taking a proper look at jennie.
her hair was an absolute mess, wearing her customized kai pajamas that she received from a fan as she wore her indoor slippers.
God, even in all simplicity jennie was so fucking beautiful.
lisa looked closer at jennie's face, "why are your cheeks getting smaller?"
"i don't know. and stop saying it like that! i'm getting older, you know? they're not gonna stay there forever!"
lisa laughed, "why are you always so pissed when people mention your cheeks? they're adorable!"
"they make me look like i'm five." jennie huffed cutely.
lisa let out another light-hearted laugh, "well, sometimes they do, but it doesn't matter, because you're beautiful with them. i love your cheeks, i could squish them for the rest of my life!"
jennie let out a small smile at that, "whatever, manoban. is that how you got niki? with your cheesy forms of flattery?"
"psh, i don't even compliment her like that. my cheesy forms of flattery are only for you, miss kim." lisa said.
jennie's cheeks went light red at that, causing her to look down at the bathroom floor in order to hide her blush.
"i missed you, you know that?" said lisa.
"i missed you too." said jennie.
"lisa?" lisa heard jisoo enter her bedroom.
"what?" lisa immediately came out of the bathroom, closing the door behind her.
"what the fu ...? who's in there?!" asked jisoo, referring to way lisa walked out of the bathroom in panic.
"it's just jennie."
"oh." said jisoo. "interesting."
lisa rolled her eyes, "why'd you come here?"
"i can't sleep because of chaeng. i swear to God i memorised an entire ariana grande album already because of her singing it on repeat."
lisa let out a laugh, "sucks to be you."
