Acalla P.O.V

Acalla watched as Azriel flew away until he was not visible with even her enhanced eyesight.

He had lied to Uriah for her, his mate. She was his mate. Mate.

It still sounded weird in her mind.

She, Acalla, had a mate.

Her mother would be hugging her to no end.

Her father would say it was forbidden. His "precious" daughter and his would-be son mated. She could hear her father's voice in her head. His yelling that no daughter of his would be mated.

Her father had told her story after story of Azriel. He had come over to their house when she was quite little.

She shook her head. She had work to do now that she had been proven "innocent".

Uriah upon hearing of her innocence had fired the kitchen hand, Nericlia, for making him look like a fool. She knew she should feel bad for the girl, but she just didn't.

The girl had reacted horribly when seeing what Acalla could do. She didn't feel bad for the girl at all.

She thoughtlessly walked back to the house that she and Myrian shared. Acalla opened the door and was met with a sight.

Myrian. And Nericlia.

Kissing.

On the couch.

She was speechless. She was about to turn and run out the almost shut door, but Myrian saw her.

"Oh, sister," he said breaking the kiss with Nericlia, " I didn't hear you come in."

"Obviously," she replied.

Acalla and Nericlia's eyes met and Nericlia's widened until they could go no more.

"That's your sister," she asked.

"Yes. How did you not know that?" Myrian asked.

"She arrived here only a month ago brother," Acalla told him, "there's no way she could possibly know every family yet. The Cauldron also blessed us by not looking a bit like each other."

Myrian nodded. She knew he hadn't thought of that. He wasn't as smart as he thought he was.

"Well yes, we are brother and sister," Myrian said turning toward her, "but how do you know who my sister is?"

"She worked in the kitchen as a helping hand," Acalla said, "but was recently let go from the position."

"Why?" Myrian asked.

"For lying to Uriah about something she said she saw me do with the "killing power" I somehow possess," Acalla informed.

Nericilia was shaking her head at Myrian as if it wasn't true.

"That's not possible, females don't have the capacity for the killing power," Myrian told Nericlia.

"I know that is why I didn't believe it at first, but I'm telling you she shot water straight out of her hand," Nericlia pleaded with Myrian.

"Are you calling my sister a liar?" Myrian asked getting defensive.

Myrian might not have treated Acalla well but damn anyone who tried to treat her bad as well.

Nericlia's mouth opened and closed as she looked for the words to defend her sanity but also not offend Myrian. Finally, she shook her head.

"Good," Myrian said.
