YN:

I wanted to throw up. I wanted to cry. I wanted to run away and never return. The short ceremony went by much too quickly. When it came time to say our vows, Soobin turned towards me and repeated them in a quiet husky voice.

I repeated my own vows then flinched when the preacher said, "You may kiss the bride." Soobin pressed a quick kiss to my lips and I had to refrain from wiping off my lips. I couldn't get the image of him and the beautiful blond from my mind.

As we turned to start the walk back down the aisle, I pasted a fake smile on my face and took Soobin's offered arm. I saw my mother smiling and my father wiping away a tear. As I scanned the faces in the pews, I noticed the beautiful blond that was wrapped in Soobin's arms. She sneered at me as we passed by her then gave Soobin a flirty smile and a wink. I was surprised at her boldness, but turned away. After the reception, she would be leaving and I hopefully wouldn't be seeing her again.

After the traditional photos in the gardens, I entered the reception on Soobin's arm. He escorted me to the head table then pulled my chair out. After making sure I was seated, he took the chair next to me and sat with a fake smile on his face.

Soobin's younger brother, Taehyung, stood up on his other side and tapped a spoon to his champagne glass. "I would like to raise a toast to my brother Soobin and his beautiful bride, YN. May you have many happy years together and find peace in each other's company."

Soobin leaned over and whispered in my ear. "Don't think this means anything. I am simply being polite in front of my people. Don't you dare embarrass me."

I nodded politely. "Understood your highness," I replied softly.

Taehyung raised his eyebrow in amusement. "Can't wait for the wedding night to start whispering in her ear, huh?" he asked, causing laughter to trickle throughout the room.

Soobin turned to face Taehyung with a tight smile on his face. "Could you resist a beauty such as this?" he asked.

Taehyung returned the tight smile with one of his own. "Congratulations brother," he said before taking his seat.

After the dinner was served, Soobin took my hand and led me to the dance floor for the first traditional dance. He held lightly to my waist with his left hand and held my hand in his right. I rested my hand on his shoulder, trying to keep as much space between us as possible. Soobin tightened his grip on my waist, forcing me to move closer.

"Are you afraid of me, little princess?" he asked, a sneer in his voice. I avoided his gaze and the question.

Soobin rolled his eyes. "I told you this marriage is in name only. I don't love you and I definitely don't plan on sleeping with you," he said.

I looked at him in surprise at the last statement. "You don't?" I asked before quickly dropping my gaze back to his chest.

Soobin scoffed at my reply. "Did you really think this was going to be real? That I would be unable to resist you and take you in my arms to make all your fantasies come true?"

I blushed at his response and felt a pang in my chest as he mocked me. Deep down I had hoped that was exactly what would happen. I knew I didn't love him and he didn't love me, but I had prepared to enter into this marriage open minded, hoping that we could grow to love each other as my parents did.

???

I glared at the sight of YN in Soobin's arms. He didn't deserve this beautiful woman. I still remembered the first night I had seen her. She was standing in the gardens one evening, the moonlight shining in her dark curls. She had brushed the hair back from her face and I caught the glimpse of her beautiful features. She had leaned down to smell the magnolia blooming and her silky hair had fallen into her face, making her laugh. I had fallen in love with her right at that moment.

As she stood, she turned in my direction and I stepped back behind the columns of the gate. I had assumed she was just a guest in the kingdom, perhaps a visiting royal that I had yet to meet. I saw her again the next day at breakfast. She was wearing a simple mint green dress and had her long hair pinned out of her face. Her face was void of the easy happiness I had witnessed the night before. I longed to go to her and ask her what her troubles were, but I restrained myself.

After much deliberation, I decided to introduce myself. As I moved to do so, Soobin stood to address the people gathered at the table. "There is to be a royal engagement party in three days time," he said, a flat smile on his face. "I have chosen my bride and will present her to the people. Darling, if you please."

I watched in horror as my beautiful goddess from the night before rose and made her way to his side.

"Princess YN will become my wife and we will work together to unite our kingdoms," Soobin said dryly.

My heart broke at his blatant display of disgust at the news. It was well known throughout the kingdom that Soobin was being pressured to choose a bride from one of the neighboring kingdoms. The union between the two would strengthen both kingdoms and make them a force to be reckoned with.

At the news of the engagement, I expected Soobin to end his relationship with Mina. This was not to be the case. Soobin continued his sordid relationship with Mina. He believed he had been discreet, but I knew. I had seen them the day of the engagement party. As YN had danced with Mark, a cousin of the royal family, Soobin had stealthily snuck out of the grand hall. I followed him to a small alcove off the main corridor. Mina had been waiting for him. He wasted no time pulling the blond in for a passionate kiss before lifting her short dress and plunging his erection into her.

At that horrendous action, I quickly moved away from the sight and headed back to the grand hall. YN had finished her dance with Mark and was looking around for Soobin. As she went to exit the grand hall, I intercepted her, extending my hand and asked for a dance.

YN had smiled softly at me, a real smile, and then accepted. I pulled her gently into my arms, marveling at how right she felt there. I wanted right then to admit my feelings, but I couldn't. I was destined to see the love of my life wed another.

I shook my head and brought myself back to the present day. I had watched Soobin and YN over the past six months. He clearly did not love her or even show any signs of respect for her. My beautiful goddess was trapped in a loveless marriage and it broke my heart.
