Hey y'all, thank you so much for being patient with me. This is a really short chapter, I'm sorry. I felt bad for leaving y'all on a cliffhanger but I am working on the next chapter so hopefully it'll be longer. So as always enjoy!

Kassandra's POV

Darkness is all around me, filling every one of my senses. I can't breathe from the weight of it and gasp loudly, struggling for air. My entire body aches with the strain and seems to pulse from pain.

Kassandra, my love, stay still. Please.

That voice. I know that voice. It sounded scared. It wasn't supposed to be scared, something deep inside of me responded and I went to sit up, to fix it. I managing to raise myself about a foot before the pain in my ribs made my closed eyes water. Soft, gentle hands carefully pressed me back down as every nerve sparked in agony.

Stay down, flos meus. Please stay still. Can you do that for me, deliciae?

My mind was muddled, trying so hard to stay conscious- to focus on what she was saying. But all I could focus on is the fact that she called me her flower and her darling. I nodded, or I tried to.

Opening my mouth would result in a scream, I was sure of that, so I didn't try to speak. The probing hands stayed on me, softly brushing my hair out of my face. I heard murmured words of comfort occasionally. It made it bearable, made it okay, and soon the wave of agony subsided.

I felt heavy. Like I was being held underwater by weights that were tugging on my limbs, pulling me down into depths unknown.

I could hear my name but I was to far gone to be able to open my eyes.

Everything felt slow and muddled. I lost consciousness again.

I don't know how much time passed when  I felt myself waking up again, there was someone sitting next to me and I can feel the barest of touches on my skin.

I was lying down, something tickling my arms- brushing against them. I couldn't move even my fingers to find out what it was.

I felt a light throbbing in my stomach, and it took me a second to remember everything. The arrow in my side, Ravanna, passing out. I felt something warm and light in my palm.

I finally found the strength to open my eyes, but quickly closed them due to the bright lights surrounding me. It took a while of me briefly opening my eyes in small moments in order to adjust. I saw that I was in a normal room, but it wasn't familiar to me. I looked to my left and I saw Ravanna huddled up on a chair, her eyes closed, and hand in mine - it was the most adorable thing I had ever seen.

I don't know what caused her to wake up but it was such a fascinating thing to watch unfold. Her nose scrunching as she opened her eyes. The shock in them was evident when she looked to me, not expecting to see me staring back.

"Kassandra?" She gasped, almost as if she couldn't believe it. Her eyes were wide searching every inch of me. She was out of her seat quite quickly, cradling my face between both her hands tenderly, as if at any moment I could break. "How are you feeling?" She asked, her voice wavering.

"I-I'm fine." I rasped, my throat hoarse from the disuse.

She quickly grabbed a cup of water, moving about as she rushed to get it to me. She raised the cup to my mouth and her other hand went to the back of my neck in order to steady my head. I drank as much as I could, almost choking. Ravanna pulled the cup back, "Slowly my love, please."

She raised the cup to my lips again and I did as she said, drinking the water slowly.

When I was done, I tilted my head away and she took the cup back. She released her gentle hold on my neck and once she did I could feel all the exhaustion engulf me once again and I was helpless to its embrace.

"I'm tired," I mumble.

"Sleep my love, you are safe here." Her lips press against my forehead and it was like my body had been waiting for permission as it fell into darkness once again.
