he was the new kid
just moved from north carolina
he was living in a hotel because his family hadn't bought a house yet
the only time i saw him
was last period
as soon as i saw him the world got brighter
i didn't know someone could smile and laugh so much
his laughter ringing in my ears
like the chimes on a breezy front porch
his eyes
as blue as the sky
his eyelashes
thick and long
his smile
brighter than sunlight hitting white paper
his hair
dark blonde
fluffy and curly, like a golden doodle
his personality
like a golden retriever
his hugs
made me warm and fuzzy
i always messed with his hair
it was so soft
he said he liked my hair ribbon
so i wore it more often
he would try to scare me
i would act surprised
even though he never succeeded
i would play with his feet
he would play with my hair
i looked forward to seeing him every day
when suddenly
he disappeared
one week he was there
the next he was gone
only for me to find out
weeks later
that he had moved away
i didn't even know where
i didn't even have his number
i couldn't talk to him again
i would never see him again
when he left
he left a hole in my heart
that would never be filled
the first boy
i ever liked
the first boy
i ever loved
left.
