Respect your foreigners

Okay to start it off, this rant from the title is about the stupid people in my school and our foreign exchange students.  Our foreign exchange students at my school are super nice and smart and i respect them a lot for having the guts to come to a totally different country and going to school with no one you know.  I mean I would be to scared to even switch schools, but they are going some place they have never been and have to fluently speak another language for fucks sake!  So I'm getting to my reason for this rant, it started in my nutrition and foods class, which is basically health and cooking class, and we are taking notes for our test coming up so there are a lot of really long words for the disease you can get from having a lack of a vitamin or whatever, and the teacher was spelling them on the board for us and sounding them out.  One fucking girl in the back started complaining, "Mrs. Harrison why are you spelling these on the board, we're not stupid."
and our teacher, a very kind old lady, says back politely, "well, some of the foreigners don't know how to spell them." and the girl rudely continues, "How did they get here then? Aren't they suppose to be really smart and they can't spell that?!" I turned to my friend, Megan, and all i could think is ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?

like I said above about the foreigners, they had come all this way and it took a lot of guts to come somewhere and stay with a family you don't even know, so her saying that just got me so pissed in a matter of seconds.  Like you don't even know how to speak two languages bitch, let alone write in two.  How about i put you in the middle of Mexico and you have to communicate and live there without speaking your own language. oh and i forgot, you also have to be graded in another language and keep your grades up. And obviously since they are here, you have to have a certain GPA to even be a foreign exchange student, and plus its super expensive.  but it was so funny to me when the foreigner from Norway says, " its okay Mrs. Harrison, we know how to spell these." it was funny to me because i didn't know how to fucking spell them.  i think its funny that people from other countries can come here, experiencing another language and atmosphere, and still get better grades than the shit heads that have been here all their lives.  Just so fucking unbelievable the people at my school.
