(Y/N) POV

. . .

Thinking back on my life allows me to remember why I have it.

Even if memories bring pain, they remind me the importance of keeping them.

Because... so much changed the day we swapped. And to think that was supposed to be my last one is unbelievable.

It just reminds me to look forward to the next day and live to see it.

Since one day can alter your entire life.

That specific one was the day I met my pair of wings.

As a child, I always loved watching birds dive into the water to catch fish. I had no idea why, it just amazed me how some living organisms had to put so much effort into getting something as simple as a meal. I remember asking my mother why they couldn't find an easier way.

She only responded with, "They're seizing their opportunities."

"I want to be a bird!"

"Sure, honey. You're our little hatchling."

"But I can't fly!"

"Oh, sure you can! You can fly as high as you want."

. . .

Where did my wings go?

Why leave so soon?

Maybe they ran out of fish to dive for?

Or...

Did they stop liking fish?

Maybe they just got tired of diving and catching none.

. . .

Maybe they're done diving.

For good this time.

Maybe all I have to do is accept it.

. . .

"There are plenty of fish in the sea."

No, I wasn't referring to love.

Even so, my sea is different.

Almost everyone had their body swap by the age of seventeen.

I'm past that age.

Maybe people like me don't have soulmates.

. . .

All seas are different.

Some seas could be full of fish.

Calm,

Happy,

Ideal,

Lively.
