the next morning kairi awoke
he was in a well lit hospital room machines were connected to him and were loudly beeping

he was alone

his parents had left

he pressed the call button for the nurse
hoping to get some answers

the nurse came rushing in
panic covered her face

until she saw the small boy with hooded eyes looking up at her hopeful
she then smiled at the sight

kairi tried to speak but his throat was dry and scratchy from the tube that was previously inserted into him

the nurse held up her finger
understanding
she left and returned with a glass of water

she walked over to the small boy holding the glass to his mouth letting him drink from the straw

when he was done
kairi horsely asked "where are my parents"

the nurse replied " they said they were coming to pick you up at three because something about updating your fans and you not missing school"

the boy nodded in response
sighing as he tired his head to the tv that hung on the wall

he whispered to himself

why didn't it work
