Once I got home, I immediately sat down by my piano ready to write this song for Björn. The song I'm being asked to write could be about anything to be honest, but in my mind, it just had to be about Björn. But wait...what if it's obvious that the song is about Björn? That wouldn't be good. It wouldn't be good at all because if it's obvious, then not only will the world hate me for writing a song about my married ex-husband, but Björn himself will hate it just as much. I'm sure he still loves me since we are good friends and we have children and grandchildren together but I don't think he still loves me as much as he loves Lena.
I mean Lena is Björn's wife after all. She's the woman that Björn decided to spend the rest of his life with after he and I divorced. And Björn had children and grandchildren with her as well not to mention that Björn and Lena have been married for 31 years unlike his and I's marriage which only lasted for 8 years. It's clearly a sign that he loves her more than he ever loved me and it still breaks my heart to this day. Björn is the love of my life and Lena is the love of his life. Tears started to flow and I began crying silently as I kept thinking about it while also trying to come up with some lyrics for this new song but I couldn't gain any inspiration. Just then, I heard someone calling for me and then rushing towards me. It was my 11 year old granddaughter, Tilda, who was Linda's oldest daughter. I quickly wiped my tears as she came closer.
"Mormor," Tilda announced as she finally came over to me. "Why are you crying?"
I panicked a little bit. I can't believe my 11 year old granddaughter noticed my tears as much as I tried to wipe them away. But I guess it was no use as Tilda ended up noticing anyways. I faked a smile and decided to hide the real reason why I'm crying. She's too young to understand after all.
"I just had a long day sweetheart and it made me feel overwhelmed," I replied reassuringly with a fake smile on my face. "But I'm feeling better now."
"Ok Mormor," Tilda replied. "Mama wanted me to tell you that dinner was ready."
"Ok sweetheart, I'll be there in just a minute. Ok?" I replied.
Tilda nodded and went and joined the rest of the family for dinner while I sat there for a little while longer composing myself. As I finally got up and headed to dinner, I realized that there was one thing I forgot to mention to all of you and I can't believe I didn't bring it up during breakfast this morning. The thing I forgot to mention this morning was that I'm not the only person living in this huge farmhouse surrounded by horses and dogs, but Linda lives with me along with Jens, my son in law and Linda's husband and their three girls. Tilda is the oldest, followed by Esther, and last but not least, little Signe.
And if you're wondering where Christian lives, he has his own apartment in Central Stockholm and before anyone asks, yes he does come here to Ekerö quite often and visits his Mama (aka me) and his big sister and her family and we, in return, visit him. Anyways, now that I've finally composed myself, I entered the kitchen and joined Linda and her crew for dinner at last. She and Jens had made some lasagna for dinner and Linda was cutting up the lasagna for Esther and Signe eat as they are only 5 and 2 years old. And there's no doubt that those two little girls love their Mormor as much as their big sister does. Bless their little hearts.
"Mormor!" Esther exclaimed excitedly. "You eat with us?!"
"Yes of course älskling," I replied lovingly. "I love eating with you and your sisters. And with your Mama and Papa and your Uncle Christian just as much."
Esther seemed very satisfied with my answer and began eating her food that was in front of her now that Linda successfully cut up all her and Signe's lasagna so they could eat it. Linda, on the other hand, had sensed that I had been crying and like Tilda, she didn't hesitate to speak up about it. However, the only difference was that we were at the dinner table so Linda just leaned over to my ear and whispered her concerns to me.
