Chapter 23
10 months later...
It was a beautiful spring morning and Sally was running late.  She looked around and saw the great beauty all around her but was trying to focus on getting to work.  She didn't text Hotah but she would explain when she got there.  When she arrived he wasn't anywhere to be found.  She looked in the fields, looked in each stall and then found a missing horse. Maybe he was just riding the mare for exercise or maybe out helping Harry this morning on other ranch chores.  She figured either way he would be back.  She started on her morning chores. She had grown to love working with the animals.  She watered all the horses, fed them and then began to take each horse out to brush them.  When she got to the stale where the mare was missing she noticed an envelope in the stall and went to retrieve it.  Her name was on the front in Hotah's handwriting and she carefully opened it.  She opened the letter which smelled of his cologne, she breathed in deep she loved the smell of him.  She started to read...

'Sally,
I am sorry I can not be there this morning.  I had some important business to take care of.  I hope you find this quickly enough.  I need you to meet me at the bridge around noon.  I will have some lunch but we have some work to do over there and I will need your help then.
I love you beautiful,
Hotah'

Sally pulled her phone from her back pocket to check the time and realized she only had about 45 mins till noon.  She finished up the chores that needed to be done first in the barn and then saddled up her favorite mare.  Her long blond hair fell out of her bun and she tightened it back up again. She grabbed the reins and nudged the horse to move forward.  Once she hit the open space she ran her and then her hair fell again out of the bin and flowed in the wind. She just let it flow freely.  She figured she could tie it up again when she stopped.  For now she was taking in the fresh air, the open spaces and enjoying the strong scent of honeysuckle and other blooming flowers.  She rode around for a few minutes back and forth and played with directing her horse and giving it pats on the side for doing just as she asked.

When she reached the area close to the bridge Hotah got a glimpse of her riding fast with her hair flowing behind her.  He smiled, "Thank you Lord, for giving me the most beautiful woman in the world."  He put his hands on his sides and watched her ride across the open field.  She had to be the most gorgeous sight he had ever seen.  She had captured her heart in a way that no one had ever done.  He loved her more than anything in the world.  The last year had been a whirlwind and she had taken care of a lot of business. She was now 6 months into her college courses she was taking online and the home she had built for her and Hotah to live in later was almost complete.  He had helped build it and make finishing  touches to make it perfect for her.  As he looked out at his beauty he saw an eagle fly high in the sky directly above her.  It was like a sign from God he was on the right path.  The path that led him to his purpose in life.  He was partly created to love this woman, to give her everything she needed, to compromise with, live in the hard and good times, be sick and well with and to be rich or poor.  She was his other half, she was his dream and now God was confirming it all with an eagle flying above her as she rode her horse almost like a true Lakota woman.

Sally slowed her horse down and then made her way over to the bridge and saw Hotah.  She smiled a big smile and jumped off.  She tied her mare to a tree close by and ran to his arms.  He picked her up and swung her around a few times and then kissed her on her forehead.  "Do you know how much I Love you?", Sally inquired.  Hotah looked down into her eyes,"You tell me a lot, but so love to hear it.  Do you know how beautiful and perfect you are to me?"  He asked and then kissed her forehead again.  He drew her into a hug and held her body close to his own.  Nothing had ever felt more like home than her next to him.  He felt like he could do anything if this woman was beside him.

"Ok Hotah what is on the agenda today?"  Sally asked as she grabbed both of his hands and swung them in between them.  Hotah smiled, well we do have a lot to do but let's start with lunch.  I hope fruit and sandwiches will be sufficient enough today?  She smiled at him, "Do I smell pineapple?" Hotah laughed, "Yes, you sure do."  Sally swung her body back and forth with excitement and whispered, "My favorite, you always know what I love, how I feel, what is important to me. How did I get so lucky?"  Hotah looked into her eyes, "A man is supposed to pay close attention to his woman and make sure he provides a d takes care of her.  I am happy and fulfilled when you smile, when your needs are met, when you are taken care of."  Sally smiled up at him and fell in love all over again.  She may not have her parents but God outdid Himself giving her this man. "Let's eat and then get to work!" Sally said as she walked to the blanket on the ground with the picnic basket full of food.  She held his one hand and drug him over with her.

They ate, laughed, talked, and then cleaned up when they were finished.  Hotah showed her the fence, and trees that had fallen that they needed to work on for Harry.  They both worked hard together trying to dismiss the tasks for the day quickly and make sure that if they had to come back the next day it would be very little work needed.

They both sat down on the bridge to rest before they packed up to go back to the stables.  Hotah turned to Sally and looked deep into her eyes.  She could tell something serious was on his mind. "Hotah what's wrong?"  He smiled at her and said. "We need to talk." Sally's heart fell just a little bit, she perked back up and asked, "Ok, let's talk."  Hotah got down on both knees in front of her where his body was below hers. She looked down at him and brushed her long fingers through his hair.  He laid his head in her lap for a moment and then looked back up.  "Sally, will you marry me this spring?"  He pulled a little box out of his pocket and opened it before her.  It was her mother's engagement ring from her father.  She took in the sight and tears began to form in the corners of her eyes. "Please say something Sally." Hotah said with a slight worry on his face.  He was now second guessing using this ring.  He knew it meant a lot to her but maybe he should have bought her a new one? " Hotah, where did you get that?  That was my mother's.  He looked at her and worry began to wash over his face. "Sally, I wanted this to be special and I knew your mother's ring would be special, I talked to Maggie and she got it for me from your mother's chest in your room. I'm soooo..." Sally covered his lips with her fingers and looked deep into his eyes. "You are the most thoughtful man alive, I would be honored to become your wife this spring.  I don't want to go another minute without you being my husband."  She smiled as he placed it on her left ring finger and kissed her hand.  "Wow, it fits perfectly Hotah."  He looked at her and smiled, "I was hoping you'd like it because I had it sized and cleaned up to fit you."  Hotah looked at her lips and then her eyes he wanted so badly to kiss her lips.  He had not touched her lips to his out of respect and to attempt to keep his desire under control.  "Sally, do you want me to kiss you now or wait until our wedding day?" Sally looked down at him and smiled a sweet smile, "You have got to be the most old fashioned, self-controlled, gentleman alive today.  Do you know that?" Then she placed her hands on each side of his face, looked deeply into his eyes and kissed him softly on his lips.  She whispered, "I Love you" He kissed her deeper and harder, "I love you, Sally." whispering back as he kissed her more.  He had waited for this moment for almost a year.  He pulled away from her knowing his desire was growing.  We have a lot of planning to do to make a wedding happen in a couple months.  Sally laughed out loud.  "Hotah, About that... Well I knew you would eventually ask me or at least I hoped you would and I have made a few plans and bought a few things already.  I mean really you were already building us a house.  I saw this coming.  Plus fast weddings are easy when you are marrying a billionaire woman.", she said while laughing and teased him.
