Lorraine
Today is the auditions for the play. It takes place after school today. For the past couple of weeks, I've been practicing saying Kathy Selden's lines because she's the character that I'm trying out for.

A lot of people in my theater class are Socs which I don't mind as long as they're nice. There are these two Socs that are auditioning for the two main roles. The one who is auditioning for Don Lockwood is Pete. The other soc that is trying out for Cosmo is Wesley. Wesley has blonde hair and is kinda attractive while Pete had medium auburn hair. I've talked to them a couple of times and they seem nice even though there socs. We have each other on social media. We text sometimes but we would only talk about theater.

When it was time for the auditions, I walked on the stage nervously. The drama teacher and students were in the audience. I took a deep breath and began saying my lines.

As I said them I felt like I was actually Kathy Selden. I said them so dramatically that I began to sing Good morning, a song that's in the play. "Good morning, good morning, it's great to stay up late. Good morning, good morning to you."As I finished singing and saying the lines, I heard clapping from the crowd. I looked up and saw the whole class clapping. I smiled and walked off stage excitedly. I sat down in one of the seats in the auditorium and waited for everyone else to finish their auditions.

After the auditions were over the teacher was assigned parts. I was really nervous that I wasn't going to get the part of Kathy Selden. When the teacher was announcing the parts for everyone else she was about to announce the part of Kathy Selden.

"Lorraine Howard, you'll be playing Kathy Selden", she announced. I was so happy that I almost fell out of my seat. I can't wait to tell the gang and the girls. I know when I tell the girls they'll probably get all excited hug me. When I tell the guys, I'm sure they'll congratulate me, especially Dally. He's known I've wanted this part and been working really hard for it.

When I was walking to the Curtis house, I decided to text Dally. I told him that I had big news to share. He texted back an ok and I went along my way. Marjorie texted me asking me what the big news was. I told her she would have to wait till tomorrow at school.

When I got to the Curtis house, I walked in and I saw the guys doing their own thing. Darry was cooking, Twobit was watching Mickey. I saw Dally on the couch looking at me. The guys greeted me and Dally walked over to me. "What's the big news?" I began to tell all of them. "I was at the auditions today after school and I tried out for the part I wanted and I got it. I'm playing Kathy Selden." Dally's mouth dropped once I said that. "Congratulations Lorraine that's awesome." He hugged me and the rest of the guys congratulated me. I can't wait to tell the girls tomorrow.

The next day at school I saw the girls hanging out in the lobby. I went over to them. Eunice and Marjorie started hanging out with us a lot recently. When I came up to them, they immediately looked at me with excited looks. "So Lorraine how were the auditions?", Willa asked. "The auditions were great,
I got the part." "Oh my god really?, that's awesome", Eunice said. They all gave me hugs congratulating me. I'm so proud of myself for getting the part. "Did you tell Dally?", Marjorie asked. "Yes I did and he's really proud of me." Luella spoke up, "I bet he is. He seems to really like you." "Does he?" "It seems like he does. The way he looks at you doesn't seem like he would look at other girls that way", she pointed out. Everyone agreed with Luella. I thought about it before I could agree and it made sense. The way he acts around me is different.

Willa looked at me. "Lorraine, what are your thoughts on Dally?" "I think he's really caring about me. He's always been there for me whenever I need someone and I know you guys are too. We text all the time outside of school, sometimes in school when I'm done with my work. But overall he's really soft on the inside." "Wow, it sounds like you really like him." "But I don't want a relationship right now because of theater." "Ok but do you like him?", Eunice asked. "I don't know, but I get this feeling of something I've never felt before around him."

"What kind of feelings do you get?", Marjorie asked. "I don't know how to describe it, but it's something good." "I think you're getting the feeling of being loved. It would make sense because of all the stuff you described him doing to you." I thought about all the things he's done for me and how we would send good morning and good night texts. All that time I felt the feeling of what Marjorie said, being loved. The bell rang and we went to our first class. I couldn't stop thinking about what Marjorie said.
