I had kept the secret for a month. It had been a month. Which left three months. Christmas was coming and no one was excited about it. It was just another holiday. But it wasn't. Christmas was when mom met dad. At the solstice. Which we were having at our school. Considering everything we had been through, it was only fair. We would dress up in beautiful gowns and go dancing. And by that I meant I would skip out and go research.

Brady had been put in the cells, magic proof and demon proof. He deserved it though. And if I was going to this solstice I needed him away for when I snuck out. I didn't need him ruining my plans. And he would have. He was evil. Truly evil. And speaking of Brady, he had said something the night of the "party." He told everyone's fears except for Hunters. I didn't want to know. It could only be used against either of us. My fear was loosing Ashton and Hunter. I thought a lot about both of them. But my mind wandered towards my wolf guardian. He was sweet and protective. Anytime anyone would get near he did this thing, called growling, you know, with his whole body.

"Phoenix, hurry, it's Hunter," Lucy said. I rushed from my room to hers. He was laying in her bed twitching. He wasn't trying to but it was as if something bad were wrong with him. I was scared. He was whining and very frail. He couldn't protect himself like this.

"What happened," I asked. She shrugged.

"He was laying on my bed and then he fell over and started twitching like that and I tried to stop it but I couldn't," she said. Tears forming in her eyes. They began to form in mine.

"Hold on Hunter, I'll get Ashton," I said he barked softly. I then laid my head on his.

"I'm changing, getting bigger again, the potion is wearing off, it'll take a while, but I need to get to the courtyard, or the gym," he said.

"But Ashton could help," I said. He shook his head.

"No, Nix, not this time, I need to get somewhere I don't have long now, tell Lucy to pack me to either place," he said.

"Okay, Lucy you need to get him to the gym, he's changing back bigger," I said. She nodded and picked him up.

She carried him quickly through the hall. Kiera asked me what was wrong and I told her. She followed behind us, The rest of the clan tailing her and Lucian walking with Sarah. We reached the gym and Ashton was there with Cedric, Mom, and dad. Titan entered from the south side.

"He's changing back, we need everyone on deck," Lucy said. Mom and dad made a space to lay him on. In the floor of course. Lucy laid him down. I got beside him. I was the only one who could hear him. I laid my head on his.

"Please, just go, Nix, I don't want you to see me like this," he pleaded.

"No, I'm not leaving you Hunter, you're bonded with me, I feel what you feel, I know you're in pain, and I can't stop it, but I'm not leaving you," I said. He whimpered. Ashtons face fell. Lucian came beside me and began stroking his fur. Lightly and slowly.

"He's in a great deal of pain, I can use my ability to ease the pain, long enough for him to change back, he only has about thirty minutes tops," Lucian said. I looked to Hunter. He nods.

"This will take a few seconds."

Lucian tan his hand over Hunter. A white light shined from them. Hunter began to calm himself. He relaxed under Lucians power. Angels had healing power. Wasn't to cliche. It was sweet of Lucian to help him. Once he was done, Lucian stepped back. I laid my head back on Hunters head.

"It's bearable, but you don't need to watch over me, it's me who should be watching you," he said. I chuckled.

"Stop making jokes, this isn't the time, do you need more space," I asked. He twitches.

"No, stay with me for what time is left, and tell your mom I do not want any more potion," he says.

I relayed the message. I told everyone to give him some space. They did. They sat on the bleachers, Lucy too. All seeing the concern in my eyes. I could hear everyone's anxiety through their heartbeat. It was radiating like gases. I felt hopeless.

"She really cares for him, doesn't she," Lucian asked Sarah. Ashton noticed his question. He sighed.

"Yes brother, she does, and now I know what I must do," he says as he gets up and heads for the door.

"NIX MOVE."

I did as Hunter asked me. He began howling so loud. It filled the gymnasium. And possibly the whole school. His body began to shift in every form. I could see fear in his eyes. As he jumped up and almost touched the ceiling of the gym, his body transformed and it became bigger and bigger. Until finally he was his old six foot self. Standing almost a foot taller than me. He was beautiful as before. He stood proud. His howl deep and magnificent. His eyes shiny black. His fur silky and smooth. And his paws bigger than my hands. This was MY Hunter.

"Wow, he's so magnificent," Kiera said. Lucy giggled.

"Yeah he is."

I walked closer to him. He walked closer to me. I grabbed the fur under his neck and hugged him right. He didn't real of a mutt. He was sweet smelling. And very clean. He placed his head on mine once more.

"Thank you, Nix."

"It wasn't just me, but you're welcome."

"Nix, I hate to tell you, but I may have to find other sleeping arrangements for a while," he laughed.

"That's not a problem Hunter, please just don't leave campus," I said. He nods against my head. It felt good to be near him. He was great.

"Okay, so, Hunter, I have decided to let you stay with Phoenix, but Phoenix, you will need to switch rooms," Ashton said coming in the gym again. We looked at each other.

"Follow me."

We did as he asked. He then leads us to a separate building off from the school. He must've just built it. It was like a huge dog house with a wide door. Odd, but a nice jester. It had beautiful double doors. About five  foot wide each door. About ten foot tall. Tall enough for Hunter to get into.

"This is for us."

"It is Phoenix, since he's your guardian, he will stay with you here."

"Wait, forever or until we get him back to his self."

"That's up to you."
