Two weeks after Christmas, Which was January, I was still pretty much alone. My friends said I should have told them, Hunter did too. But Hunter wouldn't approve. Lucy still talked to me, but the rest of them were so upset I had kept that big secret from them, they ignored me. Which wasn't actually bothering me. What bothered me was Hunter. He didn't speak to me. For two weeks, he had been sleeping in his room, with his back to the door. He could hear anyone coming. Lucy stayed with us. In that time The twins stayed outside my door. Gregory hadn't tried anything, but that doesn't mean he wouldn't. He would do it when we least expected it.

Ashton would talk to me, only to tell me how stupid I was for not coming to him about Gregory and our plan to kill him. He said he could help if I wanted to do this. He was all for killing him. It would get our lives on track and back to 'almost' normal. We wouldn't have to worry about Gregory killing anyone at least. The main thing was, getting Hunter fixed. He wasn't broken but he was in need of fixing. Emotionally and physically.

I watched outside as the snow began to fall. Usually snow fell until February. After that it was just cold again. Around march(around the green moon) was when crisp weather started getting warmer. Normally around the time that the green moon would happen, it reached about sixty-five to seventy degrees. And then in April would come very warm weather. Around seventy-five. The snow was beautiful too.

I could hear distant howls from the wolves. All of the full blooded were hunting today, including Lucy. Us vampires hunted when the snow stopped falling. It was a good feeling though, christmas had passed a new year had come. It was just, grand. Hunter hadn't been hunting. He would go out twice a week and eat a squirrel or a fox. Then he would hibernate in his room. He sent Lucy to lock me in my room while he would hunt. And he made sure the twins were on high alert. He was only gone twenty minutes at a time sometimes less. And he was as cold to me as it was outside. And being the second week in January, it was getting closer to the green moon. We had two months.

The closer time got the more I was anxious to kill Gregory. Even if Hunter did not approve, he was not the boss of me. I was going to do this for him, for me, for us. If there would be an us. I was still upset about Ashton. He didn't even want to try. And what if Hunter was meant for me? He's two different species than I am and total opposite. He's caring and he's sweet. And he's been nothing but good to me. Even if he can be a hard ball. He was still the best friend I've had. I had to tell him that, but not now, he was still thinking on everything.

Lucy tan inside my door with blood on her. It didn't smell like an animal. It smelled like a wolf. Something happened. There was fear in her eyes. It was very worrisome. I was getting nervous. I wasn't going to ask her what happened. She kept saying she needed to get it off her. To wash it. She ran inside the bathroom and slammed the door shut. I heard the water running. It was weird. Like she had seen or did something she regretted. It was an unusual attitude for her. Hunter stepped into the den. He looked at me with worried eyes. I followed his direction outside. Wolves were gathered around one of their own. A boy named Pete, who was a year below me.

I ran to Hunter trying not to disturb his thinking. He must've been wandering what had happened. Or he knew what had happened. Either way, something happened out there. And I wanted to know what. He looked at me and whimpered. I got closer and he didn't move. Maybe he wanted me to talk to him.

"Hunter, do you know what happened," I asked. I then thought back to the wolves howling and remembered at one moment one wolf in particular howled and it was almost torturing.

"Was he killed by a wolf?"

A nod.

"Was the wolf a part of the pack?"

A shake of the head. Well if the wolves didn't kill him then who did? Who could possibly do something so cruel? And what did they gain fromMurdering a wolf? Things didn't add up. And Lucy was the key to figuring it out. Would she tell us? I was her best friend. Hunter was her brother. Maybe she would say something when she came back out. She hadn't even said anything. Just wanting to get cleaned up. She was shook though. But I knew she had been upset and seen something.

Hunter bowed his head in respect for the fallen wolf. Even if he was hybrid his wolf side still carried stronger. Lucy came out of the bathroom with a long T-shirt that came to her knees. She looked better but still shook. I immediately went to our kitchen and started some hot chocolate. The whole dogs die from chocolate doesn't apply to wolves. They can eat anything. Except silver. I poured some in a cup and came back into the den and gave it to her. She was covered up on the couch. I was careful not to smother her. I tried to walk away from her but she grabbed my wrist.

"Will you sit with me, both of you," she looked at us both. The warmth of the fireplace heated my cold natured body. Being a vampire I was naturally cold. I watched as Lucy drank her hot chocolate. She wouldn't say anything. But we neither one was pushing. We knew she would tell us in her time. I looked at Hunter who was watching the both of us. She sat in silence for a while until she finally spoke up.

"Pete was, he wandered off, when I went to look for him, I knew something was wrong," she paused. "When I found him I seen a huge wolf, about a foot smaller maybe less than Hunter."

I looked at Hunter who looked at me. And I wasn't sure what she'd seen but I didn't press her.

"Hunter was being torn to shreds by a black wolf."

I again looked at Hunter and he looked at me. And she noticed the look on my face. She was curious as to why I had that look on my face and she asked me what was wrong.

"That was Gregory."
