We loved our room. It was built like a two room dorm but bigger space. You walk in and there was a huge living room the size of two rooms combined. One room had a six foot wide door and of course it was eight feet tall, with no door on it. For Hunter. There was a huge California king bed big enough for him. He would weigh at least four hundred pounds. Maybe a lot more. The bed was built of steel rods. My room was just off the right of his and it had a wide opening with sheet curtains draped in front.

"Wow."

"I'm glad you like it, now I will leave you to settle in, and have a good night both of you."

Ashton really was being a sweet man. He gave us a dorm and told us we could stay together as long as we wanted. He was putting our needs and wants over his. That's what caring means. To put the need of someone else over yourself and that's exactly what Ashton did. And that's what made me feel a little less excited about breaking his curse becaus you can care about someone all day long but if you fight for someone that shows that you really want to be with that person. To me Ashton didn't even want to fight for me. The one who was truly wanting to fight for me was the one I was bunking with now. Which meant he probably cared a lot more than I realized.

The solstice came around and it was time to celebrate. It is been a week since me and Hunter had shared a dorm room together. We seem to be getting along just fine. In fact he was back talking to me again but not very often. He rested some because it took a lot out of him when he changed back to his normal size. So tonight was the solstice. And I have decided to wear one of the best colors that suited me. Purple was one of my favorite colors. And it suited me well in fact it made my eyes stand out. But the dress was not as full as a ball gown but it had a flair. It sparkled and it was beaded with tiny beads. It was strapless and I paired it with a half purple jacket a shade lighter. My shoes were two inch heels that were black. My hair was pulled to one side. I looked sophisticated.

Hunter was waiting for me in the den, where we hung out all the time. When I walked inside he literally stood still and almost in shock. I smiled at him because he must've liked the dress. He came to me placing his head on mine. His warm fur was just to safe and warm. It made me think I didn't deserve his servitude.

"You look beautiful Nix," he said.

"Well, I just wish you were in human form, I could use a dance partner."

"Me too, but you can dance with Cedric, he would love to dance with you I'm sure, I mean he does care for you as a sister," he said. I chuckled. He was right though.

"Yeah maybe, but it wouldn't be the same, so shall we head out," I asked. He nods. He walks beside me.

We walked through the courtyard. It was a crisp cool night. But he kept me warm. Are usually we slept in separate rooms. He had his I had mine. And there was no way he'd fit in my bed. He'd weigh it down. It was made of wood. But I liked that we could walk closely together. And not have a word to say. But I knew he wished he could have been human for a night. But I couldn't wait until we broke his curse, because on Independence Day, which was the blue moon, we could spend the night, together watching the fireworks, assuming Ashton let us shoot them.

We reached the doors to the gym. Lucy and Luna were watching the door. The finest team I ever seen. They looked at me with wide eyes. Luna wore a one strap silk red dress it was beautiful. Lucy wore a brown sparkle dress that had thin straps. She was beautiful too. Kiera and Cassie had the best ideas though, they almost matched but different colors same style, two inch strap on one side and spaghetti on the other, Kiera wore black and Cassie wore green. Both sparkled. I seen Sarah and Lucian coming. Sarah wore a long white stretchy gown with sequences. It clang to her figure. Lucian had a white tux.

"Wow, you girls are so beautiful," I said. They all grinned. Lucian looked at Sarah and grinned.

"Wow, I mean, you are so gorgeous Phoenix, and purple just compliments you," Luna said. I agreed. But then Lucy spoke up.

"But I had an idea, since purple and green are witches colors, and you are part vampire, and you're name being Phoenix, you could make your signature color, Orange and yellow," she says. Everyone looks at me and to each other. All in agreement. It made sense. I wasn't full witch or vampire. I was mixed breed. And I was powerful. And my name was Phoenix.

"I like the idea, what about you Hunter," I asked. Placing my head on his.

"I think it would look absolutely amazing."

"He likes the idea too, so from now on, I will wear a mix of those two colors."

"Great!" Luna says laughing.

We gather inside the gym. Lights twinkled above us with snowflakes dancing. There were different colored or dame tables floating about. It was beautiful. Hunter took a seat in the closest corner to be on look out. He nodded me off, and I continued to party with the best friends I had ever known.

"So, I noticed that Hunter seems down tonight," Lucy said. I looked at Hunter who had his head down watching everyone, sadly.

"It's just that, we wanted to be able to dance together , normally," I said. She nodded.

"He wants to be human, but not for himself," she says. I nod. She grins and takes my hand.

"How about you go over and sit with him, reassure him that when he's back to normal you will do normal things with him, more than you did with others, let him know you want that as much as him."

"Because Lucy, I told him already I wanted to do normal things with him, I don't want to hurt him more," I said with tears in my eyes. It hurt so bad.

A few moments later there was a bang at the gym doors. Something was trying to bust through. Hunter jumped up growling. I noticed some of the hybrids and wolves changing. Some as big as Hunter and some not so much. But what was trying to break the door down? I ran to Hunter who shoved me back making me stay away from the door. The banging continued. Like someone REALLY wanted in. It was confusing because no one from here would want to harm anyone except Brady. But he was locked away.

Finally the door gave in. It flew open. Whoever it was, had left but not without a gift first. Ashton stepped up to claim it. He read whatever it was the person had left. Then he looked at me. And his eyes become worried.

"It seems that Miss, Redd has been targeted by Gregory."
