Third-person POV

(This is when they are 13)

It was night time on the mission so the team decided it would be best to stop at the nearest Inn and get some rest.

They got a room with only two rooms but everything worked out with Sasuke and Naruto sharing a room, Sakura getting a room to himself self and Kakashi sensei sleeping on the couch.

"Okay team it is time to sleep, we will need the rest for tomorrow's mission," Kakashi said with a closed eye smile like always.

There were some fines and goodnights were passed around among them, and they were separated into there rooms.

"There is only one bed!?" Naruto shouted to Sasuke. "Shut up! You are going to wake up the entire building." Sasuke replies with a monotone voice.

"Whatever! So who is sleeping on the floor?" Naruto asked Sasuke. "I don't care I just want to sleep," the raven says as he changes his clothes while facing the wall.

"Whatever, I am tired too" Naruto changed his clothes and got in the bed.

"Ugh! Just scooch over you are taking up the entire bed" Sasuke says pushing Naruto said.

"You are going to push me off the bed!" Naruto complains. "Just shut up! I want to sleep" Sasuke snaps.

The blond stayed silent for a second sighed and moved over as the dark-haired ninja got under the blanket "Sasuke? Are you all right?"

"I am fine!-" He paused and sighed "I am fine. I am just tired, I am sorry for snapping" Sasuke just turned away from Naruto and closed his eyes trying to fall asleep.

"So it is going to be one of those nights" Naruto mumbled to himself but Sasuke was too tired To be concerned about whatever the dobe was blabbering about and just fell asleep.

Naruto just laid there in silence and turned to Sasuke just staring at his back. "Sasuke? You still awake?" No answer, "okay. Goodnight even though you can't hear me. Hehe! I am such a loser... even tho you already know that. I love you~. Goodnight again" then naruto turns back around and falls asleep.

~later that night~

"Mother! Mother!? Please don't go! It's me! It is your son! Please don't leave me again!" Sasuke pleased and begged as he watched his mother drift into the darkness.

"Mother! Come back, please! I need you!" He began to break down and cry knowing that his mom was not coming back.

Sasuke heard something in the distance. "Mother? Is that you?" H1 questions.

"Y-yes Sasuke it is me! I am here! Mother is here! Mother won't leave you! I promise" the voice cries out.

"Where are you? I want to see you again!" Sasuke asks as he looks for his mother. "Grab my hand mother so we can leave and live happily with father!" "Of course my sweet boy let go" Sasuke felt something grab his hand but nothing was there.

"Mother? Where are you?" "It is okay! i-i am right here! Just go back to sleep you are just really tired." He felt his hand fall. "Mother? Where are you!? Why can't I see you? Where are you!? Please! Don't go-"
"It is okay my sweet boy. I am right here but you need to go back to sleep" his mother reply very quickly

"Mother where are you!? I can't see you! Please come back! Don't leave me again!" He started whimpering again thinking she left.

The raven boy felt arms wrap around him but nothing was there still. "It's okay mother is right here! But you need to go back to bed" the invisible let go. "No! Mother! Where are you! I need you! I can't do this anymore! Please take me with you!"

He tried to run but his feet wouldn't move. "No, no, no! Mother help me! I am stuck! Take me with you!"

"Please. Please! Just go back to sleep Sasuke! Y-you need to go back to sleep!" The voice of his mother slowly drifted away.

"NO! Take me with you! Please, mother!" He sobbed trying as hard as he could to move but his legs wouldn't move. "MOVE to DAMN IT!"

"I am sorry Sasuke. Go back to sleep" his mother quietly cried. "N-"

"Sshhhh. Mother loves  you so very much, please go to sleep."

"Mother! Mother!" Sasuke's eyes shot open.

He heard quiet sobbing and felt an arm around him and another one stroking his head.

"Mother!?" He clutches on one of the arms.

"Yes, Sasuke it is me-!" It was naruto. He was holding Sasuke into his chest while rocking him back and forth but stopped when he noticed he was awake.

"Sasuke, you need to go back to sleep you are really tired," naruto says in a calm voice and lays half-awake sasuke down on the bed and wipes the ravens tears way.

"Mother is that you?" Sasuke could see the blurry person in the dark and reaches out for them.

"U-um… Yes! Sasuke it is me and you are very tired so you need to go to sleep," Naruto says pulling the blanket over the raven boy and pulls his hand down.

"Mother! Mother! I can't believe it is you!" Sasuke just weekly smiles at him and reaches out to him again.

Naruto just grabs his hand and holds it in his. "I-its okay mother is right here." Naruto looks away still holding Sasuke's hand.

He felt so bad for lying to his friend playing the part as if he were Sasuke's mom just so the raven would go back to sleep in peace.

"Okay, mother. I love you." "I l-love you too now close your eyes I will be right here" naruto kisses the back of Sasuke's hand while he drifts off to sleep with a smile on his face.

Naruto's eyes being to water. "I am so, so sorry Sasuke" he lets go of his hand and goes back to sleep.

This was not strange to naruto he had to do this a lot, Sasuke would wake up the blonde with his cries and calls for his mother.

Naruto was left not knowing what to do and no matter what he couldn't wake up the poor boy.

So he just panicked and said he was his mother and that seemed to calm the Raven down.

Naruto just kept playing the part of the dead mother and Sasuke would believe him, so he just never quit.

~the  next day ~

"Are you okay Sasuke?" Naruto question his best friend.

Sasuke smiles at him "never been better" (except when your family was alive)
