Kai's POV

In my room, I sat all dressed ready for the day, but today didn't feel like any other day. I thought on my bed about what will happen today. I was scared of yesterday's events.

(Kai's outfit)

I heard a knock on my door and I got up to open it. Who I saw on the other side made me freeze. Noah looked at me and asked, "Do you know where Tessa is?"

I couldn't say anything as he grabbed my hands and pulled me out of my room and soon out of the building. Where I saw Tessa walking up to.

Noah said to her, "Hey, you ok?" Tessa said, "Yeah." I was far away from them as this wasn't my fight to get involved. Noah asked, "Where were you? I texted you, you didn't answer me."

Tessa answered, "I'm sorry, my phone died. I'm sorry." This is not going to end well. What happens isn't my fault. Tessa, why?

Noah asked again, "Where were you?" Tessa replied, "Er...a friend needed my help." Noah said, "What? In the middle of the night." Behind Noah appeared Hardin and I wasn't the only one who saw him.

Tessa found him causing Noah to turn and see making him figure out what had happened. Noah looked at me and said, "Did you know?" I nod and said, "Me telling wouldn't have made you believe me, would it. Also even if I wanted to tell you, it wasn't my secret to tell Noah." Noah laughs emotionlessly to himself saying, "Your right as always Kai."

I felt terrible for Noah, but there was nothing I could do for him as I wasn't the one who messed up. Tessa said to Noah, "Noah, I can explain, can we...please, can we just...can we just go inside and talk?"

Noah looks broken as the only word that can leave his mouth was, "I..." I knew Noah didn't want to talk to Tessa and I understood that. Tessa said, "Noah." Noah said to himself and Tessa, "I don't believe this."

Noah starts walking away as Tessa says to him, "No Noah, Noah wait, Noah, I'm, I'm confused, I've wanted to talk to you about it for a while. I am so so sorry. Noah?" I stay behind watching as this went down.

This is what I wanted to avoid, but here we are. I see Tessa tell Hardin something as she walks back to the building, but stops as she faces me.

I said, "I didn't tell him, but I wanted to. I'm so disappointed in you Tessa, I mean this is what I was trying to protect you from, but you messed up. I tried to help by giving you choices, but you picked the wrong ones. I'm sorry Tessa, I love you, but I think you should stay away from me and that means him too."

I say the last part loud enough for both Hardin and Tessa to hear as Tessa tries to speak to me, but I drown it out. I feel tears slip out of my eyes as I wipe them. I'm sorry Tessa, I failed you.

A Few Days Later

I haven't talked to anyone after the thing between Noah and Tessa. Not even Alice and Sophie, who are blowing up my phone.

I know mom, Noah, Hardin, Steph, Tessa, Alice, and Sophie are trying to talk to me, but after that whole event. To be honest, I can't face them as I feel what happened made me feel like a failure.

Here I thought that Tessa would make better choices, but nope. She didn't. I did my best to help without trying to force her or let herself get broken and hurt. I was wrong and now there is nothing for me to do.

The only people I was talking to were Landon and his friend Alex who was really nice. I didn't say anything about what happened to me and Tessa to Landon. The great thing is he didn't bring her up making me think she told him.

Today I was getting coffee with Alex. I really liked Alex as he wasn't like Hardin who was an asshole bastard.

(This is Alex)

Alex said, "It wasn't my fault. I thought he said 'add more'." I was laughing at the story where he put too much hot sauce in his friend's food. We were here to work on our project for a film class, but we finished early. I was too busy talking to Alex that I didn't notice Hardin come in looking at us.

Alex said to me, "I'll be right back." I nod and drank my hot chocolate when I felt a long stare at me. I turn to look at the suspect and to see...Hardin. Surprise...not. I frown and looked away not wanting to see him here at all.

Alex came back and said, "Hey, I got a call, and gotta go back." I said to him, "That's fine. We finished the project and I was going to leave, too." Alex and I packed up and walked to the exit for me to see Hardin had walked wanting to talk to me, but thankfully Alex had come to save me. Bye, Hardin.

At Night in My Room

I was typing a paper when I heard a chime from my phone. I sigh and check to see the name said, Hardin. I open my phone to read the message he sent me.

(Kai, Hardin)

Hardin: Can you come to my room, please?

Hardin: I need to talk to you.

Kai: No

Kai: I don't want anything to do with you so go away.

Hardin: Please, Kai.

Hardin: I really need to talk to you. It's important.

Kai: Too bad, you're not important to me Hardin.

I block Hardin's number as I continue to type my paper for class not caring what Hardin wanted to tell me. Why did I have to be involved?

I was halfway through my paper when I heard a knock on my door. I got up and opened the door to see and hear, "We need to talk, now." Great, now I'm in trouble.
