Problems and Forgiveness

Kai's POV

I was in class learning about stars and space which I had with Tessa. I stayed far away from her. She sat a couple of seats away from me as I focused on the professor when I thought of last night's conversation.

Last Night

There standing in my doorway was...Alice and she didn't look happy. She said, "We need to talk, now." I invited her in and close the door. I sit on my desk chair as I say to her, "What do you want me to say, Alice? I failed." 

She sighs and said, "Look, I know you want to go home, but this isn't going to help you get there." I put my face in my hands as she continues, "Kai if you don't say the truth then everything is going to burn. All this won't be there anymore!" 

She was right but what was I suppose to do. I can't tell the truth and even if I did the outcome is unknown to me. I said, "I can't do that, even if I wanted to and you know that, Alice! I can't just say the truth without them thinking I'm crazy!"

I breathe after shouting and I know Alice is trying to help me, but there is nothing she can do for me. She gets up and walks to the door stopping halfway saying to me, "This is hard Kai. I understand, but people are going to get more hurt if you keep going down this path."

She was gone and I was left alone in my room with thoughts of how I got myself into this mess?

Present

I snap out of my daze to see Tessa and Hardin together making me look away when I felt Hardin look my way.

I saw Tessa and Hardin get up and leave making me think back to what Alice said. Is this really the right choice? What am I doing? This story is getting more complicated than I expected. I lean back in my seat and listen to the rest of the class before packing up.

At My Dorm

Writing some new stories and drawing some scenes randomly in my room was my way of dealing with my overflowing thoughts in my head. I hear a knock at my door and I got up and opened it to see a pissed off mom there.

Before I could open my mouth she said, "We're going over to Tessa's room to talk." I was dragged while in my lazy clothes out of my room once again.

I stay silent as my mom was telling me off about keeping a better eye on Tessa and how worried she was when I haven't answered her's or Noah's calls or text messages. I had a reason, but I decided to keep my mouth shut.

We were in front of Tessa's room and mom barged in not noticing Tessa and Hardin heated make out on her bed. She said, "Tessa, hun I've called all day. Tessa?"

Finally, Tessa, Hardin, and mom realized they were in the room, and let me say mom was now beyond pissed. Tessa said, "Mom...what are you going here? Why is Kai here? I thought you were not talking to me." 

Mom ignored Tessa's talk about me and asked her, "What the hell is going on?" I stay silent as I could Hardin's stare burning into my head.

I didn't look at him and I didn't want to. Tessa answered, "Nothing." Wow, Tessa. Really, when you were just sticking your tongue in Mr.Perv's mouth. Sure mom going to believe it.

Mom didn't as she asked Tessa, "Who's he? Is this the guy Noah told me about?" All poor Tessa could say was, "I..." and at this moment I wanted to run into my room and never come out.

Mom said, "So this is how you spend your time instead of going to class." Tessa answered, "No." Mom looked at me and said, "At least one of my children is focusing on her education." 

I turn away from the stares as I know this is going to turn ugly. Hardin finally speaks up, "I think I should go." Mom said to him, "You think." 

Tessa said to mom, "Can we talk about this outside please, please." Mom said, "You go! Come with me. Kai, you stay in Tessa's room." Great, leave me alone with the one person I didn't want to be alone with.

I stand awkwardly in the room with a shirtless Mr.Perv. My life is so awesome right now. I heard Hardin ask me, "Why have you been avoiding me?" I laugh and said, "You really want me to answer that. Ok, I know what you are playing Hardin Scott and I don't like it. I don't like you, okay." 

He said with a small smile, "You look cute." I face him and said, "Is this really what you are doing?" He looked confused and asked me, "What?" I answered explaining to him, "You get close to my sister and date her. While dating her, you hit on her other sister, and right after you sleep with her sister. You try to get with the other one." 

Hardin looks at me saying, "I am not-" I cut him off saying, "You're not doing that. Yes, you are. You're blind to your tricks and games, but I can see through them."

Hardin laughs sarcastically to himself and said to me, "You seem close to Alex recently." I look at him with an angry face as I said, "Ok. First, I can be close to whoever I want. Second, you're with my sister so why are you jealous of me hanging out with another boy? Third, we are not dating and never will. You don't own me, Hardin Scott."

I had enough of this and walk to the door to leave when I heard Hardin ask, "Would you ever like me?" I look at him saying, "I would rather die Hardin." I left without another word.

In My Room

I was painting a person when I heard a knock on my door. I open it to see Tessa. I watch her fidget and said, "Can I help you?" She said, "Can we talk?" I nod and let her inside my room.

I offer her my bed as I sit at my desk. She says to me, "Mom cut me off." I replied, "I know, she told me." Tessa sighs and said, "Kai, I'm sorry. I know you're disappointed in me, but I need you right now. I have no one else that understands me better than you, please."

I sigh and get up and bring her in a hug and said, "I can't stay mad at you." She laughs and said, "I missed you." I replied, "I missed you, too."
