I couldn't help but stare at the beautiful interior of his house. The more I walked through the halls, the more I fell in love. I was in awe. Everything was spotless, shiny and expensive. There was not one thing out of place which was impressive.
From my understanding he lived on his own, but why did he need such a big house for just himself? He was rich, probably loaded with cash. You never know, I might just end up walking into a room filled with money.
I wouldn't be surprised if I did.
It took me at least 2 minutes to try and find the stairs and let's just say that alone was quite challenging to find. His house was absolutely huge, breathtakingly large.
Zion had left on my own to find my way to the front door so that he could go and make a quick phone call to someone.
Although he told me to 'walk straight and not look at anything,' I couldn't help but get side tracked every now and then. How could he expect me not to snoop around? He didn't even give me a tour, so I thought I would give myself one.
My feet padded along the cold stone tiles, the socks that he gave me almost making me slip. Stone flooring? I hate stone flooring.
Nonetheless, I ventured my way through the halls, making sure to look into all the rooms that I passed. Part of me felt bad for being so nosy, but then the other part of me just didn't give a shit. I just hope for my sake that I don't bump into Zion now. He would literally kill me.
It's his fault if he sees me looking through his house, he let me go walking free. Bad idea...
I don't know what I was expecting his house to look like, but it certainly wasn't this beauty. He really did have a good taste. Well.. I was very impressed. We were high up on a mountain, hidden in the wilderness by the evergreen trees.
As I got towards an empty hall on the left, I heard someone talking rapidly whilst on a phone call. -Well I assumed he was on a call because I didn't hear anyone replying back to him. He sounded aggressive, loud and secretive.
It sparked my curiosity because I didn't know that Zion lived with anyone else. Who could it be? Oh my God, what if whoever it is, is trying to kill us?
Quietly, I tiptoed over towards the door that was left ajar. Maybe it was stupid of me considering I was a very clumsy person.
I pressed my head to the wall, listening in on the conversation but much to my luck, I had no idea what he was talking about.
"I don't care Dad, the ball is in 2 weeks and you can't be there. The 10:57 plan is to—."
Suddenly he stops talking as if he had heard someone, making me freeze in my spot. Did he hear me? He couldn't of possibly heard me, I hadn't moved a muscle. Maybe it was some sort of sense that he had, hearing the tiniest sounds that some mankind couldn't.
My heart rate started to spike, my palms becoming sweaty as I slowly moved away from the door with shaky steps. All I could hear was the sound of my heartbeat drumming in my ears.
Fuck the floor for being wooden in this part of the house because the slippery surface made me slip.
Just as I thought I got away with it, the sound from my phone echoed through the hall. Even if it was just the vibration,it could still be heard. This part of the house was just so quiet, that you could hear a pin drop.
Fuck.
I couldn't think anymore, I was fucked. He heard me. Whatever he was talking about I knew I shouldn't have heard because why else would he be whispering?
