Ch 26

Batman and Stain just stood across from each other in the alleyway, both of them sizing up there opponent.

Stain: so Batman was it.

Batman didn't say a word in response, choosing rather to stay silent and remain ready for anything. This however didn't bother stain in the slightest as he continued to talk.

Stain: not much of a talker, that's fine just listen Batman. I will give you the chance to leave now so that I can finish my work and you don't have to get hurt.

Stain waited for a response from Batman but he remained silent. Stain was now starting to wonder if he was even listening to him.

Stain: did you even hear what......

Batman: I heard you.

Stain: oh you did, well then what do you say.

Batman: that I'm taking you down.

After Stain heard what Batman said he got furious. He offered the boy a chaise to leave but he threw it back in his face. Then he had the never to say he was going to take him down. Stain griped his sword tighter ready to fight.

Stain: fine kid, I gave you a chance to leave but if you're going to stand in my way I'm going to have to end your pathetic life!

Batman: if you surrender now and come quietly then I won't have to severely hurt you.

Stain: ha let's see what you can do kid.

Batman the brought his fists up ready to fight, seeing this Stain charged at him. Batman waited and let stain close the distance, Stain did and when he was in range of Batman Stain began swing his sword trying to cut him anywhere he could. Stain was fast but every time he swung his sword it was blocked by Batman's gauntlets. Stain then went for a stab at Batman's stomach but the attack was parried by a low block with the gauntlets. After parrying the attack stain was left off balance, seeing this Batman stepped forward and dealt a hard strike with a side hammer fist to Stains face. While Stain was reeling from the hammer fist to the face Batman planted a hard front leg side kick into his ribs causing him t stumble backwards. Stain however wasn't out of it for long and eventually regained his bearings.

Stain: I have to say I'm impressed, I thought you wouldn't even be a challenge for me.

Batman: and I thought you would be better.

Stain: I was holding back but not anymore. This time kid, you will die!

Batman: lets see what you got....Hero Killer.

Stain charged at Batman again but this time Batman met him half way and the two engaged in combat yet again. This time however Batman could till that Stain wasn't lying about holding back as his was a lot fast with his cuts this time around. Batman was still able to block all the attacks with the sword but he was starting to get pushed back. Stain then went for a vertical cut to Batman's neck. Batman was able to duck under the cut and when he did went for a spinning leg sweep to knock Stain to the ground. Seeing this Stain leaped over the attack and went for a downward stab at Batman as he fell back down. To get out of the way Batman quickly rolled forward so that he was behind Stain when he landed. Batman the turned towards Stain but when he did he was met by a sword cutting across his abdomen. Seeing this Batman leaped backwards to get away.

Stain: it's all over now!

Stain then went to lick his blade but quickly saw that there was no blood on it.

Stain: what, I know I cut you!

Stain then looked over at Batman and saw that the cloth of his suit wasn't even cut open.
