Chapter 12

Then it happened. Just what I didnt want to happen. Did I hear myself correctly??? Oh God!!

"Kya baat hai..apni girlfriend se aaj kuch zyaaada hi jhagra ho gaya he kya..jo Anjali pe itna gusa ho raha hai" Jiju said to Shehry.

I didnt know how to react. I looked at Sid who looked at me and then back at Shehry as we stood there frozen. Jiju and Ayaat kept on laughing about the joke. Anu and Hussain didnt laugh this time as they knew what the truth was. They both stood frozen Anu biting her lip.

I looked at Shehry but he didnt pick up his gaze. Sid looked disappointed. Oh GOD!! Yeh kaha pe phasa diya.               

Chinta mat karo sid. Tumhe sab kuch bta dungi...

Even though our moods were off, Jiju and Ayaat were so happy so I decided not to ruin the moment.

"Chalo...game start karte hai" I tried lightening up the mood.

"Haan toh kya teams boys at girl...ok girls start" Shehry said. I didnt argue.

I threw the ball and hit the set up thing. Then I ran across the field trying to place it back as it was. The boys kept on trying to get us with the ball but we got saved each time. I placed each piece back carefully as Anu and Ayaat passed them to me. We were almost done when there was one piece left. I staggered my eyes here and there.

Suddenly, I caught sight of it. I smiled at the fact that I had spotted it. But before a heartbeat, all I could see was a hand reach out and grab it. I traced the forearm up to the head to see Shehry grabbing it. My jaw dropped.

The balls stopped moving everyone froze.

"Shehry' I yelled and marched my way to him.

"Lena hai toh lelo" he teased and ran away forcing me to chase him.

"Shehry..stop cheating" I said

"Oho..cheating mein kar raha hun ya tum?" he said. What did that mean. We didnt even cheat. My insides burned as he blurted that from his mouth.

"WE cheated" I asked defending my team.

Without a second thought, I rushed to him. He didnt have a second to think. I tiptoed against his tallness and streched across past his arm and reached for that piece but he moved it back making me lose my balance and trip pushing Shehry onto floor. I landed on the floor with Shehry falling on top of me. He couldnt control himself either. He was so heavy.

He finally raised himself holding himself up from his hands. He gazed into my eyes a confused expression on his face. I thought of what that expression meant. Then realizing that everyone there, Sid there, was staring at us, I pushed him away and he fell down next to me and then sat up.

"Hato" I said as I pushed him.

"Ouch" he said.

I looked at where my elbows burned.

"Ouchhhhh" I said staring at my wounds.

"You alrite" Shehry asked ignoring his injuries to look at mine.

"Yea..." I said not looking up to him.

"Hey..umm Im sorry" Shehry said.

"No No..its fine..really..its totally fine" I said and with that I went downstairs.

I entered my room only to see Sid sitting upon the bed.

"Oh Im sorry..I thought this was my room" I said and quickly backed away to leave.

"Oh no no..it is ur room" he said making me pause.

"Oh" I said and sat down on the bed.

"So whats up" I attempted conversation.

"Anjali...u never told me...u and Shehry??" he asked

"Actually Sid..." I started but he cut me off.

"Ur blushing" he stated. What?!?! How could I blush...

"Sid...its just a fake relationship.." I exclaimed before he made any more judgements.

I explained him everything on how bla bla happened and bla bla and whatnot.

As soon as I finished, he burst out laughing.

"Bechari" he said and laughed more.

"Sid!!!" I said throwing pillows at him.

"Acha acha..toh you guys actually hate eachother" he confirmed.

"I actually have a crush on him" I joked. His expression changed. He seemed shocked.

"Just kidding yaar" I said shoving him.

"Oh..I was about to say..." he said. Then there was a pause. "Do you have a boyfriend in real life tho?" he questioned.

"NO" I replied seeming desperate. Images flashbacked through my mind of Shehry and me at drama class...I remembered the little scene we had on Romeo and Juliet...I didnt realize I was smiling.

"Oho..Kiske khwabon mein??" Sid asked.

"Shut up Sid..." I said shoving him and exiting the room.

"OHO. Sharma gayi" I heard Sid call out.

I just ran downstairs. When I came down, I had to idea what to do so I went out outside to just get a glimpse of India.

I staggered all the way outside and stood at a step. i squinted my eyes preventing the sun from burning my eyes. Then I heard a bark sound. Immedietly I backed up stepping on someone's foot and shoving them back as well. I turned around to see Shehry..holding his iPhone.

SHEHRY'S POV:

Bada humiliate karaya tha uss larki ne mujhe. Revenge toh banta hai...I thought.

"Kya soch rahe ho bhai" Hussain interuppted my evilness.

"Kuch nahi...Teri girlfriend ke baare mai" I dissed back.

"Meri girlfriends ya...apki??" he said. I never had a girlfriend before...ok maybe once in like kindergarten.

"You know I never fall in love and never will..." I stated in his face.

"Ok god...yeh to Bhabhi ji hi bata hein gi" he replied.

I ignored his dumb comment and went out into the balcony stretching. Then I saw Anjali..She was just standing there staring into space.

Thoda sa maaza le le the hain...I thought. I grabbed my phone and rushed downstairs quietly tiptoeing behind her. Then I put on the bark sound from my phone ringtones.

I laughed at her sudden panic as she backed away stepping on my foot and then shoving me back her leaning on me. I gazed into her eyes. She looked back at me tensed. Then her eyes glanced down towards my phone. Then I realized that she also had an iPhone. Sh*t!!!

"Hahahah" she laughed sarcastically and walked back inside.

I smiled at he reaction and also headed back inside on to my own risk.

"Oho dono Anjali aur Shehry bhar se aa rahe hai" Ayaat noticed.

"Kuch toh hua hai" Sarfaraz added.

I just shook my head and sat down while Anjali twisted Ayaat arms. Then she left going back up into her room.
