These white hallways were beginning to become confusing.

Although I followed Axel, the hallway itself was pure white and I had a feeling that all of the halls in this place were like this. I wondered if maybe there was a map somewhere I could have.. but I had the feeling I would just have to learn how to navigate the place. I sighed in annoyance at the thought. A few feet in front of me, I heard Axel chuckle. "I know what you're thinking," he said with amusement. "I bet you're wondering if there's a map somewhere. I wanted one when I first got here too, but you eventually figure out the place."

"Is there a map though?" I was hopeful that there might be.. maybe? Possibly? "Nada," he raised his arms in a shrug, and then looked over his shoulder at me with a smirk. His green eyes exuded playfulness. "But c'mon, it's not that bad!" I couldn't help myself but to smile at him. "I'll figure it out."

We kept walking. I spaced out, staring at the back of his head. His red, spiked hair swayed very slightly behind him as he walked. It looked sharp, but I knew it couldn't be because it's just hair. Or was it sharp? Maybe he gelled it? Hairspray? Or was that natural?? There's no way-

I felt myself walk into something, which knocked me out of my thoughts. Once I came to I realized I had literally walked into Axel's back, right in the entrance to the grey room. He turned around, an eyebrow raised. I felt my cheeks redden and I cleared my throat. "Uhm.. sorry, haha.. got lost in thought." He bent down a little and ruffled my hair. I felt my blush redden more. "Whatever you say," he laughed a little. "You're about as a tomato!" His eyes shimmered at the teasing, and I crossed my arms. "Yeah, well so are you!" "Hey!!"

"Axel."

We both turned quickly to the somewhat deep voice we heard. It was a tall man with long, blue hair. He had an X shaped scar decorating the front of his face, starting in the middle of his forehead, crossing in the middle of his eyebrows, and ending underneath his eyes. His serious gold eyes accompanied his unamused expression.Axel's playful demeanor changed to match the man in front of us, but he still had his shit eating aura to him. "Saïx," he said. Oh. So this was Saïx.

"Please behave yourself." His tone was very straight but I could tell her was annoyed. "Whatever you say," he said. I could almost hear him hold back a scoff. Saïx then looked at me, his gold eyes making eye contact with my own. They were piercing. "(Y/X/N), today you will go on your first mission. Demyx will accompany y-" Axel interjected. "Demyx? You sure she shouldn't go on a mission with anyone else? It's her first time." His voice was tinged with worry, and a little bit of something else. I couldn't tell what it was.

"Demyx will be sufficient, Axel." The read head held up his hands defensively. "Right, right, I get the picture." Saïx glared at him and he stretched, taking his time. "Guess it's time to go." He patted my shoulder as he left, and I remembered the agreement I made to him. After this, I can meet him back here and he'll take me to get "the icing on the cake." Not going to lie, I was excited.

"(Y/X/N)." Saïx's voice pulled me out of my thoughts. His voice was intimidating. I realized I had spaced out for a moment when I noticed another person standing next to him. It was another, shorter guy standing next to him. He had a dirty blonde mullet and blue eyes that looked like ocean water. He had a cheerful yet lazy look to him, and he held a huge stringed instrument next to him. "This is Demyx."

"Heya," the blonde smiled. His voice was nasally and his obvious friendliness almost comforted me. "Hey," I replied, feeling relieved. He plucked a note on his instrument absentmindedly and Saïx spoke up again. "You two will be going to Agrabah. Your objective will be to destroy a set number of heartless." He held his hand out to the side and a large dark looking portal appeared a few feet away. "You're dismissed."

"Ugh, Agrabah? You've got to be kidding me," Demyx groaned as he walked towards the portal. I could tell Saïx was refusing to ignore him. "I am SO not the right guy for this.." Not the right guy? What, does he not normally go on these missions? Or am I not catching something? I followed him until he went through the portal. Once he went through, I was in front of the entrance to the portal. I could feel the darkness emanating from it, which made me nervous. I closed my eyes and took a breath, then stepped in.

Walking through the portal was like walking through sludge. I trudged through the darkness, trying to look for an exit. I had to remind myself to keep calm. After a moment, I spotted a light, and I went towards it. After awhile, I finally reached it. I stepped through, and the light outside was blinding. Once my eyes adjusted, I was able to identify my surroundings.

I was in a very, very bright bazaar. The sun beating down on my back was almost unbearable. I could already feel myself start to sweat. Below my feet, sand covered the ground, and my feet were having a problem with traction. I could smush my feet into the sand if I tried hard enough. The bazaar had a little bit of charm to it, even though all the people were gone. I presumed that everyone was elsewhere, in their homes in the city. It was still early in the morning.

Across the part of the bazaar I was in, Demyx was draped on one of the counters for the stores, obviously already overheated. "Ughh..." he whined. I walked over to him. "Man.. I hate it here. Agrabah sucks." "I can tell," I said, sitting on the counter next to him. "Plus, this place puts such a damper on my powers. Such a drag."

"Powers?" I mused curiously.

"Yeah," he said. "Look." He held his hand straight up from where he was dramatically draped over the counter. Bubbles started to foam from the palm of his glove and culminated into a large bubble. "I control water," he said, sitting up. He then threw it against the sand a few feet away from us. We watched as the wet splotch on the ground slowly started to dry up. "God! Now that is just depressing!" I laughed at him a little.

"So we're supposed to fight heartless?"

"Don't remind me," he whined. "Normally we'd go look for them, but sometimes they'll just show up on their own. And I refuse to go look for them. Not here!" I shrugged. "Okay, then.. instead, can you answer some questions for me?"

"Yeah, sure. Beats anything else we could be doing," he summoned another water bubble into his hand and passed it from hand to hand, fidgeting. "Lay it on me."

"First of all, what is the portal thing we used to get here?" I still didn't know what those were called, and I had a feeling that it was something that was essential to getting to and from where we were staying. "Oh, that? Those are called dark corridors. That black coat you're wearing lets you walk through them without getting hurt." I nodded. "Right, okay, secondly.. we're nobodies right? Aren't we supposed to not feel anything?"

"Yeah, well.." he trailed off for a second. "Uhh, that's true. But we all like doing things to pass the time. I like playing on my sitar," he pointed to the instrument poised against the stand we were on. "And some of us play cards, tend to plants.. there's a lot of different things. And we all say that we just pretend to enjoy those things, but honestly? I think I genuinely enjoy my hobby. I don't know about the others.. but you know. It almost fills in that hole I feel like I have." He shrugged. "Why do you ask?" I took in all the information he just said. Maybe we have feelings? I couldn't understand yet, honestly.

"I think I still feel things? I'm not sure, but I think I do."

"Well, that makes two of us. I've been here longer than you and I still don't really get it that well!" He smiled.

I opened my mouth to say something else, but I heard a strange noise. I turned to face it and saw some weird creature.. it was small and dark, and it twitched. It's eyes were yellow and it looked like it felt empty.

"Ugh.. heartless already?" Demyx picked up his sitar and stood up. "I'll say it again, I am SO not the guy for this.." more started to appear around us, and I held out my hand and summoned my whip. It came easier to me this time than the last few times. "So we just.. hit them?"

"That's the idea," he said, and I took a deep breath.

"Alright. Game time."
