Silena

I ran as fast as I could. More guards were coming. They hardly paid much attention to me. We all had the same goal. To kill some orcs. I ran faster and faster until my lungs and legs burned. That's when I saw them. The dwarves were in barrels rushing down the river. I saw Legolas looking down at them from a cliff. I was getting closer and closer. I was going to jump off the cliff into the water, and swim to the dwarves. I saw Thorin turn his head and look at me.

"Silena!" He shouted. At this, Legolas turned his head to where I was coming from.

"Silena..." Legolas started. I saw the look of shock and surprise cover his face. But that only lasted for a second. I rushed past him and jumped. I pushed my feet as hard as I could off the rock, sailing through the air, into the cold water. It was like tiny needles over my body. I pushed my head out of the water. I gasped for air.

"Silena!" I heard Thorin shout. I turned and looked. He was only a few feet in front of me. He had his hand out. I swam toward him as fast as I could and grabbed his hand. He held onto my hand firmly and pulled me to the barrel. The water swirled around me. I locked my arms onto the sides of the barrel to avoid slipping off.

"Silena are you ok?" Thorin asked. I looked up at him.

"Yeah," I said, my voice shaking. I turned my head back and looked back at the cliff. I was Legolas staring at me, his eyes filled with betrayal. I knew he had been looking for me after I had left. And in a way, he had found me. I quickly looked away. "I'm ok."

Thorin

"Anything behind us?" I shouted.

"Nothing that I can see," Balin responded. Silena was still holding onto the barrel with one arm. The other was in the water helping row the barrel. I was using a giant stick to push the barrel along. Silena looked tired. Her face was pale and she moved in slow motions.

"I think we've out run the orcs," Bofur said.

"Not for long," Silena said weakly. "We've lost the current."

"Make for the shore!" I shouted. We all started paddling towards the shore. It took awhile but we finally made it. Silena collapsed onto shore. She laid there on the rocks for a moment, catching her breath. She closed her eyes. Then opened them suddenly and sat up quickly. She got up and looked back to where the tree lines were.

"What is it Silena?" I asked a bit concerned. She turned to me.

"I know this place," She said. She pointed to the woods. "I used to come down here with my brother. There's a willow tree close by. I kept arrows and swords." She turned to me. "I'll be right back. Don't go anywhere without me." With that, she bolted into the trees.

"Silena..." I started, but she was already gone. Dwalin came up to me.

"Where's Silena?" He asked.

"She went to find weapons," I said. Dwalin looked at me confused. I sighed.

"She said that there was a willow tree where she hid weapons. She's gone to find them." I explained.

"She better be back soon then," Dwalin said. I turned around to see Kili fall to the ground. Bofur was standing above him, looking at him concerned. Kili looked up at him.

"I'm fine." He said. "It's nothing."

"On your feet," I told the company.

"Kili's wounded," Fili said. "His leg needs binding."

"There's an orc pack on our tale." I said. "We wait for Silena then we keep moving."

"To where?" Balin asked.
