"YAH! What's wrong with you?" Eunwoo looked at her wide-eyed as he parked the car on the side of the road.
"Marry me." She stated again while looking at him in the eye.
"Yah! PARK SOOYOUNG!" He eyed her suspiciously for a couple of minutes.
"Yah! Lee Dongmin, I'm being serious here." She said, calling his real name while pouting at him.
He shook his head before starting the car and continued to drive again. "What's wrong with you? Something happened, right? Aside from that anonymous number who kept on sending photos, what else?" He knitted his brow as he tried to concentrate on the road.
"I... I don't want my child to grow up without a father." She looked down at her hands.
Eunwoo sighed loudly. "Your child has a father... it's obviously Sungjae."
She remained quiet and looked outside the car instead.
"Sooyoung~ah, he's the father right?" He glanced at her.
"Yes. He is... But he's marrying Luna." She said sadly while blinking away tears that started forming in her eyes.
Eunwoo's grip on the stirring wheel tightened. "Says who?"
She averted her gaze from him and continued to look outside without saying anything.
"Okay. Let's talk after eating, is that okay?"
"Hmm," she nodded in agreement. "Alright," she mumbled.
None of them spoke again as both seemed to be in deep thought. It was Eunwoo who broke the silence.
"You shouldn't make decisions when you're at the peak of your emotions Joy," he reminded her as he went out of the car and opened her door. They were already parked at the space provided by the restaurant. "Because if you do, most of the time you'll end up regretting it in the end." He cupped her cheek with his warm hand and dried a tear that escaped her eyes with his thumb. "If I'm someone who would take advantage of you, I'd immediately say yes and marry you, but I'm not that type of person. I don't want you to end up being remorseful and regretting this day in the future. Marriage is a sacred thing to do... it is more than a physical union. So please think about it, okay?"
She sniffed, dried her eyes and nodded before giving him a tight and long hug. He hugged her back and caressed her hair. "Are you feeling better now?" He asked after a couple of minutes. Her stomach growled in response instead. "OUR little Pumpkin is hungry. Let's go!" He cheerfully said while chuckling. She bit her lower lip in embarrassment and laughed while gently rubbing her stomach, "Alright, let's go!"
He knew that she was smiling and trying to cheer up but deep inside, her emotions must be in chaos. There's always been a hint of sadness in her eyes whenever she smiled or laughed ever since Sungjae left her without any explanations. What's gotten into you Sungjae? Protect her?! It's more like hurting her! He scoffed then inhaled deeply before sighing, he was trying to calm down because the rage that he's been trying to control and hide keeps on escalating every time he sees Joy like this... hurting.
"What's with that face Eunwoo?" Someone blurted out once they entered the restaurant.
"Bro!" His face brightened up as he gave the other guy a quick warm hug before introducing Joy.
"Welcome to Luscious Rendezvous, I'm Yang Se-hyung, the owner and sometimes cook of the restaurant," he smiled charmingly at Joy as he ushered them in a private room.
"Bro, we can just occupy one of the tables --"
"No, I insist you stay here. I'd like to join you both for dinner, if it's okay?" Se-hyung asked them.
"It's fine with me," Joy agreed immediately.
"So what would you like to eat?"
"Ya bro, I'm also here. Why are you ignoring me while you keep on talking only to Joy?" He whined.
"Because she's pretty," Se-hyung explained with a straight face.
"And I'm not?" He looked at the other guy wide-eyed in disbelief.
"Ha. Ha... So, where were we? Ahh, what do you want to eat, Joy?" Se-hyung ignored him once again while smiling brightly at her.
She burst into laughter at the sight of the two bickering. "You both seemed to be pretty close."
"Yes, we lived together for like... three years? Was it three years?" Se-hyung asked him.
"It's more than that... and she wants salmon, bro. Now... go and cook! Her stomach has been complaining nonstop when we were on our way here. Go." Eunwoo nagged as he sat next to Joy.
Se-hyung glared at him them smiled sweetly at Joy before leaving them in peace, "Okay. Fine... I'll be back with our food!"
After a tasteful meal he excused himself and left Joy and Se-hyung who were still engrossed talking about healthy food and cooking while having some desserts.
He just finished using the washroom when he spotted Sungjae enter one of the private rooms in the restaurant. He quickly followed him and entered the room. He was alone. He moved swiftly and punched him in the face without warning.
"What the – " Sungjae rubbed the part of his face that he hit. "What's wrong with you, Eunwoo?!"
"I should be the one asking you that! WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU?!!" he barked back at him irritated. "PROTECT HER YOU SAY? BY WHAT?! MARRYING THAT GIRL?!" his face was red with rage, his knuckles white from clenching it too hard.
Sungjae stayed tight-lipped as he clenched his jaw, not answering his question.
"FINE! Go marry that girl!" he shouted in frustration. "I hope you don't regret it if I marry Joy," he smirked at him. He was about to leave but Sungjae yanked his shoulder violently before landing a blow on his face. "What did you just say? DREAM ON, AS IF SHE'D MARRY YOU!" Sungjae said in outrage.
He smiled then laughed sarcastically, "If I tell you that Joy asked me to marry her, how would you feel Sungjae?" He hit him on the face. Hard. "Do you think she's exhilarated to know that you're marrying someone else, huh? You're HURTING her, STUPID!"
"The two of you, ENOUGH!" Seung-gi said firmly as he entered the room.
Both of them were catching their breath and bleeding after the exchange of physical blows. He narrowed his eyes at Sungjae, "I wanted to tell you something, but after what happened today, I don't think you deserve to know. Live well." He turned his back from the two people in the room and left.
Now, how am I supposed to face Se-hyung and Joy with this face?
