"Joy?" He brushed away her hair and cupped her face with his huge and warm hand as he shook her gently. She remained motionless.

"Bro! Call Dr. Wang! Hurry!" Sungjae called out to Eunkwang when he felt Joy's body become limp in his arms.

He carefully lifted her off the floor and laid her in his bed. He ran his trembling hand through his hair, panic and confusion written all over his face. "Bro!" He yelled louder when he saw Eunkwang still frozen in shock at the doorway.

Eunkwang snapped back to reality, he nodded at Sungjae reassuringly, "I got this bro." He dashed out of the room leaving Sungjae lost in his own thoughts, standing in one corner of the room while staring outside the glass door, his brows furrowed while he bit his lower lip.

Joy... what happened? Did you not recognize me? Why did you look at me like you're lost? Have you... forgotten me?

Wendy darted and kneeled beside the bed when Eunkwang left the room. She held her friend's hand and squeezed it gently. It scared her to see Joy so pale and unmoving. She started to tear up because it felt like she took a step back in time when they found her bathing in her own blood, lying in the dirt and almost lifeless three years ago.

She stared at Sungjae loathingly. Why? Why is it that every time your path crosses something happens?!

She sighed loudly when he looked back at her with a bewildered expression. And why is it that you seemed clueless of what happened? Are you really innocent?

"What happened to Joy?" He asked worriedly while he sat on the opposite side of the bed. He clasped Joy's hand gently, his thumb stroking the back of her hand lightly.

She watched him intently as he gazed at her friend with a myriad of emotion, from hurt and confusion to longing with a hint of love evident in his eyes.

Can I trust him? Should I tell him? What do I do? I wish Irene was here.

Right at that moment, her phone rang. She sighed in relief when she saw Irene's name on the screen.

"I'm sorry, but I need to take this call... let's talk later..." she excused herself and went out of the room.

"Hello, Iren--"

"IF HANI DIDN'T GIVE ME A CALL I WOULDN'T KNOW THAT JOY PASSED OUT! When are you going to tell me?! We're almost there! You've got a lot of explaining to do lady!"

Wendy stared at her phone wide-eyed when the line went dead. Irene hung up the phone after saying what she wanted to say.

A few minutes later, three people walked behind Eunkwang as he entered the living room. Irene was one of them and she walked past the others towards her who was still frozen at one side of the living room. "Where is Joy?!" she snapped at her irritated.

Mom... she's so scary right now.

Irene abruptly stopped and frowned once inside the room. She was taken aback when she saw Sungjae sitting on the bed and staring at Joy while holding her hand.

"Irene, let me explain first," Wendy stopped her from charging towards Sungjae.

"No." she said firmly. "I don't trust this man." She pushed her aside and walked up to him.

"Get away from her!" She hissed at Sungjae who looked back at her questioningly.

"I'm sorry, what did you just say?" he asked even though he heard her clearly. He remained seated on the bed, gently grasping Joy's hand.
