As the days turned into weeks and weeks into months, Ciel almost lost sight of his mission. He also almost forgot everything he was prior being a Hogwarts student; his title, his familial identities, and greatest of all, an avenger for his family.
"My lord, you look troubled," Sebastian remarked as he stood next to his master in one of the corridors, empty of students and staff.
"Do you get engrossed in the role you're in? So engaged you forget yourself?" Ciel asked.
"If you're asking whether I forgot our contract in the midst of our role play, no, I do not forget. Because of the contract, I play any position demanded of me to the fullest. I assure you, my goal is the same since that day."
Ciel winced slightly when Sebastian scathingly referred back to his horrors while he glowered with his piercing blood-red eyes.
"If you have forgotten your goal then I shall murder everyone in this world to guarantee that our mission is completed and we may resume your vengeance," Sebastian hissed, his form slowly shifting to its true manifestation.
"Of course I haven't lost sight of the bloody goal! Revert back now, Sebastian!" Ciel snapped.
Suddenly, the atmosphere went back to normal. Breathing slightly faster, Ciel glared at Sebastian who sported a poker face. When the pair started to walk, another couple ran by. It was Dumbledore and Snape. Ciel hastened after them, Sebastian deliberately trailing behind. All four arrived in front of the Gryffindor dorm entrance. The portrait who patrolled the house was in hysteria. Evryone instantly saw the three rigid scratch marks that marred the painting.
"He threatened me when I refused him in!" an image of a plump woman cried.
All Gryffindors streamed out, confused at the commotion situated right outside of their dorm. Ciel noticed Professor McGonagall guiding a sobbing Neville away from the scene.
"Sirius Black?" Lupin asked softly.
"Yes!" she cried.
Shortly after, all students were ushered to the Great Hall for the night. Trepidation and excitement overtook all thoughts of sleep.
"The curtains to my bedpost was shredded!" Ron whispered to Harry, Ciel, and Hermione.
"Neville also had a list of passwords that he lost."Ciel shook his head in dismay, wondering how someone could blundered so frequently and untimely.
"Ah, Professor Mixhaelis! We'll go sleep now, I promise! Don't send us to Professor Snape!" Ron exclaimed when the ginger saw Sebastian striding toward them.
"No need to fear, Ronald," Sebastian said cooly and ever so slightly, beckoned toward Ciel.
The two headed to one of the Great Hall's back entrance but not without recieving disproving glances from Snape.
"Mr. Black has escaped, and I am now familiar with his presence. From now on, I'll try to be close to you as much as possible," he whispered.
"I don't need you to be a governess!" Ciel replied.
Sebastian then clutched Ciel's shoulders, claws tearing through the uniform and breaching through the skin.
"I didn't ask for your permission. If you recklessly put yourself in danger, you not only endanger yourself but the contract too. Try that and I would not be bounded by the contract anymore," Sebastian almost snarled.
Ciel yelped in pain and immediately the claws faded away and as speedily, Sebastian took his hands off of Ciel. The toll of the past several months washed over Ciel in that moment and started to collapse to the floor. Swiftly, Sebastian caught him and gently carried him back to his pallet. Harry was the only one awake to see his friend's return and witness Professor Michaelis's long frame crouching in a bow.
